I didn't do too bad. Still 141. Which means I didn't lose anything, but I didn't gain anything, either. Which is a plus.

I didn't weigh myself all last week because it was that time of the month for me, plus I wanted to wait until a few days after Christmas to get on the scale, and I fully expected to be back up to at least 143, having gained a couple of pounds over the holiday. But I'm still 141, so I was happy with that

I'm certainly glad to see I am not the only one that didn't do well over the holidays

It's only one week, and easily corrected come the new year =)

Well, I look at it this way - I'm sure many of us feel we could have done better. But we could have done lots worse, too.

I feel this way about it - I have changed how I eat forever. I am not on a diet, this is the way I eat. The way I eat is to have a big Christmas throw down at my mom's house with all the fixings, including pie. There is no eating plan that would work long term for me that didn't include holiday celebration meals One Christmas dinner did not make me a fat person before I lost weight and one Christmas dinner will not make a fat person since I have lost the weight.

I don't think I did too bad (and I *did* journal everything I ate). I'm not liking the scale right now, but there is NO WAY that I ate enough food to warrant the extra 2-3 pounds that pops up. I simultaneously did some BIG workouts (we're talking multi-hour) and I think most of what's happening is water gain as my body adjusts to the exercise stress along with a little water gain from the food over the weekend (and hey, I DID go to the gym on Christmas day--yikes!).

I'm back on track, but it's HARD this week because I'm on vacation. Makes me very aware of how "vacation" to me has so often been defined by food indulgences. Sigh. But...I keep thinking of the clothes my mom got me that I had to take back today and exchange for a size smaller

Woohoo!

It's so nice to see someone else who thinks the same way I do

I agree - have also found a way of eating I can live with forever. What worried me about the gain was it was down to a few biscuits and some handmade chockies - in every other way even for the big meal itself, I just stuck to my normal diet. If I could gain 3lb just over that, and so fast, I'm worried about the implications for when I'm on maintenance!

That said, I did this same diet 10 years ago and maintained easily for 5 years til I got pregnant again (that always messes me up royally - maybe as I have PCOS so there's hormones everywhere).

It's knocked my confidence seeing how little it takes to gain - but then, I'm not beating myself up over it, either, as I stuck to the straight and narrow for 6 months now, and I've got to the point where I don't crave fatty things at all, and I'm genuinely enjoying what I eat. Just unsettled that a handful of chockies could wreak such havoc! (That said they were probably 200 cal a throw!)
