I heard about something like that Cat; everytime you want to eat brush your teeth because no food taste good after a good teeth brushing Apparently, it does work for some people. I say if you find a trick that helps you, then stick to it.

Today I was pretty excited....I put my son down for his nap and realized at the exact same time a workout show was on tv. It gave me the opportunity to do 30 minutes of cardio and then I did some ab work for 10 minutes. Ever since my c-section the ab work has been really hard to do and very painful. So now I know everyday at 10am I can get a good 30 minute workout in. I will of course take my son for a walk today as well.

Amanda: Did you get my PM? I hope I was able to help you out with the ticker situation.

Good job Andrea! I understand about trying to work around kids and a nap routine. I have 4 kids 7, 4, 2 1/2 and 2 months. Luckly, the baby is an angel. I always start my workout even if I dont get it finished atleast I did try which is better than doing nothing at all. I just ordered the new FIRM exercise system...I cant wait to get it! So how is everyone else doing today? Is everyone else up and moving? So far today I have done well with my eating, I still have to exercise. Today's goal for me :Lateral Thigh Trainer for 25 mins with weights and the ab and bun work (8 min abs). Ok ladies let us know how your doing today.....Good Luck!!!!

I tricked my family, and they like it. My daughter really wanted spaghetti and meatballs for dinner so I instead of beef I made the meatballs with ground turkey and used multi grain pasta. My husband and daughter really liked it and could barely tell the difference. The only thing I don't like about the turkey is the texture; it is mushy. So next time instead of meatballs I will just make a meat sauce. It is so much more healthy then the white pasta and beef, and really tasty. I also made sure to add a lot of fresh veggies to the sauce in order to make it nice and thick. As much as I wanted a second helping I stuck to one plate and made it a small plate to make it look like there is more.

I guess that is my tip today: Put your food on a small plate instead of a large one. It is deceiving because your plate looks so much more full and tricks you into thinking you are eating more.

How is everybody doing today? Have you been able to get some exercise in? I volunteer at my daughters school Thursday mornings so I missed the workout show at 10; then to top it all off I forgot my sons stroller in the car my husband took to work today so I can't even go for a walk I have to think of a way to ensure I get active today even if it means doing crunches on the floor. This weekend I am going to buy a workout dvd. I do have some here but they are all vhs and I only have a dvd player

Hey Girls!!

No it is not down to just you two - there are at least the three of us still here.

I have been really stressed out lately. My son is going to have surgery on the 16th and I am not really taking it well. It's making some pounds come off, but I am not happy about that because I know they will just come right back soon.

I have been doing good on eating, even though I have stopped worrying about points and just try to eat right. Trying to count the points just added more stress to me.

I'm not doing well with activity. This morning we got up and did some Postnatal Yoga (if you have Comcast On Demand they have a lot of short clips like that) but that was at 7 and it's nearly 1 now. I really need to work on that.

So happy to hear everybody is doing well. You are right it looks like our group is dwindleling down to us three That's ok though because I can only speak for myself when I say I am totally commited to this and losing weight

I am nervous about this weekend though because tonight my husband and I are going out for seafood and of course calamari as an appetizer is a huge weakness for me. I know fish is good for me, it just all the other fun stuff on the menu that can really hurt my progress. Tomorrow night we have a halloween party to go to so of course that will also be hard. I will be sure to fill up on healthy stuff before I go so I am not tempted to pick at the finger foods....this is going to be hard

Hey, don't count me out!!!!

I am still here and very committed! In fact, I think I wrote a message just yesterday.

My actual weigh in day is tomorrow and I have a good feeling about it. Okay, I cheat and weigh in constantly so I already know I am doing well this week but my "for the record day is tomorrow".

Brianna, why is your son having surgery? I am sorry you are going through that. My son had surgery at 10 months and several other invasive procedures prior to that. It is is really hard to watch your little one go through something like that but they are very resilant.

I caught a bad cold from my kids so I haven't been great about exercise the last two days. Hopefully, tomorrow I will at least get a good walk in.

Happy Friday.

I'm here, I'm here...

I finally am feeling better! I splurged a bit today and ate something that isn't on plan. But ya know, I'm totally ok. The only person I'm cheating is myself. And if I don't see a loss on Monday, then I know why.

Have a good weekend!

Woo Hoo! I found the thread! I'm new to 3FC and have no idea how to navigate it yet. That may be where we lost some of the other girls. Any how, I had weigh in yesterday and I lost 2.2. For a total of 23.2. I'm less than a pound away from my 10 percent! Baby is cranky tonight so I gotta run. Stay strong this weekend!

WOW! Amanda! That's fantastic!

Are you following any specific plan? It certainly seems to be working for you.

WooHoo; I am so happy to see you all here I think we have a great group of ladies who are ready to work their butts off (literally )

Last night was not too bad. For my appetizer I had some stuffed mushrooms so the only bad part was the cheese on top. For my main course I ate lobster tail with a baked potato and salad. It was not my first choice to eat, but on the back of the menu they listed their "lighter choices" and apparently my first choice had 22 grams of fat!!!!! Who knew that grilled salmon was so fatning? So I opted for the lobster which only had 2 grams instead.

Good to see you here Amanda, I know you were having difficulty finding us. That is an amazing loss you had last week. It must feel so amazing being so close to you first goal of 10% I have no doubt you will lose it, plus some additional weight at your next weigh it. Is your next goal another 10%? I think that is a really smart weight on doing it and it seems to be working out really well for you.

Cat: GOOD LUCK TODAY AT YOUR WEIGH IN!!!!!!!!!! You sound a lot like me. The scale and I have a special relationship and I tend to check in with it everyday; infact sometimes more than once LOL I think I posted this before that my husband has threatened to hide it during the week and only put it back on Monday mornings. It is an ongoing joke in the house because it just sucks me in

Myholidayboyz: Great to see you here and sorry to hear that you were not feeling well this week. Don't feel guilty about eating something bad; it takes more than one set back to make a huge difference on the scale; just as long as it's not a consistant thing. There has been more than one occassion this week that I ate a halloween candy. I figured the small Aero bars to be 1 point each, but being all that chocolate and sugar I think it adds up to more points if you eat a bunch. Somebody told me once "that one little mistake you made tonight will not show up directly on your hips tomorrow" . Sometimes it's ok to enjoy. Good luck on Monday at the weigh in. Just remember to make the rest of the weekend count

Brianna; I like the postnatl yoga idea. Yoga is amazing for the body and is so beneficial. Sorry to hear about your son. Remeber to take it easy and of course your attention is focused on him, but at the same time don't forget about yourself; you need to be healthy and strong for him. I cannot relate directly to what you must be going through, but if you need to vent please feel free to PM or email me if counting points is not in the picture for you right now and is causing more bad than good, then I agree just eat healthy and be aware of portion control. If you are anything like me, you have the basics of the point system in your head and can generally estimate how many you are eating and know what's good and what's bad. Maybe try and go for a walk daily as well to help clear your mind.

NavyWife- Can't wait to hear about your weigh in, I have a great feeling about it It sounds like you had a great week in terms of eating well and daily exercise. Your goal is creeping up on you

Well I need to go and get my morning cup of tea to get me motivated. Everybody have a great weekend and I will post on Monday morning with our new weekly thread. Can't wait to hear some more fabulous results!!!!!!!
