Hello I'm new my name is Yvette and I want to lose 79 pounds. I am counting calories and I am in the process of deciding what my caloric intake should be. I am eating 1900 calories at the moment and I want to lose more than a half a pound a week. So far I have loss 3 pounds in 7 weeks. I do exercise at least 30 minutes for 4 to 5 days a week. I was thinking about taking my calories down to 1800 calories per day. I just want to at least lose 1 pound a week. I want to weigh 130 pounds. I am listening to tapes on eating healthier and how to detox your body by doing a parasite cleanse. Well take care ladies I just wanted you to know a little bit about what I'm doing.

Well good morning all ... how is everyone this morning? Sorry I haven't been around but ..... we are in a "remodeling" mode this week ... we cut a hole in our bedroom wall for a door that goes into what is going to be my computer room/office ... since my computer at the moment sits right in front of the open cutout I just covered it up and didn't turn it on since we have been putting up knotty pine on the walls and there is dust everywhere ... didn't want to get it into the computer! We have a mess right now, but when it is done it will look great!

Yvette:
I want to welcome you to the group! We may be small in attendance at this time but .. we are faithful and very supportive and sure do hope you come and post with us often so we can get to know you and help each other. Sounds like you are losing the weight in a very healthy way and exercising too - thats great. Curious tho - what is a parasite cleanse (almost afraid to know) .. Please come back and post often with us. Glad to have you in the group.

Sharon:
Hope you are having fun with Tracy and Kelly and Ellen too. I hope you guys aren't getting in too much trouble! hahahaha Let us know when you get home and fill us in on all the fun details of your trip. Will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Slyvia:
Where are you girl? How's the kitchen coming? and have you started your walking yet? Hang in there, you will get yourself back on track soon. But get your butt in here girl, you're suppose to be helping here ... ahem ... just kidding around, come in and post when you can.

Peggy:
I'm really getting worried about you dear ... is everything alright? Please post soon and I hope all is well with you. Thinking of you.

Well, I'm off to make me a pot of coffee ... Hope we get some action in here soon ... I'll check back in later on. Have a great day all.

Love, CJ

Smile Hi thin ladies

Hello thin ladies I am really trying this healthier way of eating but somtimes old habits die hard. I bought a new scale that measures your percentage of body fat and water in the body. I was a little surprised at how much body fat I had so this is going to help me to work on getting my fat percentage way down. I have loss so far 3.7 pounds and I am happy about that although I want to lose a little faster I know that on 1/2 to 2 pounds a week is all that I really need to do. I think that I am really serious about getting this weight and fat off of my body that I sometimes feel a little anxious when I know that I need to take a deep breath and just work on eating healthier and exercising. The parasiet cleanse is from a book I bought that everyone has parasites and I need to detox my body because I eat red met and pork which has worms in them and it is suppose to be the way you would want to cleanse before you start your diet, her name is Valarie Saxon and I have her 3 cassesset tapes I hope that helps some I got the tapes from a Christian program. Ok well I'll talk to you ladies later and keep on losing we are all in this together.

Hello, all. I've been fighting sinusitis the last week, and am only now beginning to feel semi-human again. *chuckles* But I didn't gain anything even after all the bread and potatoes and comfort food I ate while home for three days straight. Half of the time I think I eat out of boredom.

Anyway, I just thought I'd pop in and say hi. I've been enjoying the tomatoes and zucchini as they ripen in our garden. Grilled zucchini is wonderful! And I've been taking tomatoes to work in place of peaches or apples for breakfast. Yum!!

Have a great week.

Hello people I 've been doing pretty good. I just need to work on drinking more water.
Synger I am glad that you are feeling better, and it is good that you haven't gained any weight so you can continue on and you don't have to worry about starting at a different weight. Take care everyone and keep on losing.

My turn to add a few cents to the thread. Life has been hectic in my neck of the woods.

DM had a second batch of surgery, then found out she has glaucoma. I took her for laser surgery this morning. On top of that, she has decided that she is living with us. So, if I'm not bonkers now, just wait....

We did fit in 3 weeks vacation...2 complete weeks renovating a bathroom and bedroom for DM. We are still cleaning up the dust that just keeps going (must have been listeing to duracell). I also went through all of our storage boxes, reorganized the junk, labelled what I kept and put it back.

We did spend a week of vacation with friends, too. We had a great time with them (plus an additional 10 pounds) and were really sorry to have to leave and go back to work. They are both retired and we are drooling with envy. Just another 6 years, 6 years, 6 years. I can only dream at this point.

That's the main stuff that happening here, other than I am desparately trying to lose the 10 pounds that I gained. Really having trouble getting back to working out, but that will come.

Have a great weekend everyone. Talk soon, I hope.

Hi Ladies:

You all sound like a very positive and supportive group....I've been posting again since February (you can usually find me in the Depression Group), but I'd like to trade ideas and motivation with others too.

I'm a big fan of exercise and am always looking for new ways to find my waistline....it disappeared over the last 2 years as I was on several meds, the side effect of meds was getting in bed with Ben & Jerry, mindless overeating and no exercise.

I have to work out first thing or it never gets done, so i just get up at 5AM and try to do at least 30-40 mins of FIRM or BillyBlanks or someone else...I'm currently paying myself $1.00-5.00 everytime I exercise.

CJ, I read your BIO, your birthday is the day before mine! I also enjoy Q and HSN, (too much some times). I'll be back to visit either tomorrow or Sunday.
Have a great weekend!!

Hi it is good to hear from everyone. I am doing good my motto is how bad do you want it? that's what I have to ask myself when I want to overeat, go to a fast food place and pig out. I also work out with Tae- Bo, Power 90, and The Firm all of these work outs are a challenge and I do not want to over eat after working out so hard. I have quite a journey to go but I am going to make it, and so are you. Lets stay in touch more and encourage each other. Hey sweet tooth you are going to be alright and geit off those ten pounds. Marbleflys I am looking for my wast line too and we are going to find it again alright ladies take care and keep on losing.

Good afternoon ladies!

Well, looks like I'm a little behind here - have some catching up to do! Hope you all had a great weekend. We had our son and daughter-in-law up for the weekend ... did a little shopping, did a little gambling (no luck this trip) and did a little off the program eating .. but not too bad. Boy, all this talk about exercising - what's that? lol ....... just kidding. I know it's a good thing, just not my bag. I'm a wanna be exerciser ... I do have a treadmill and xl glider, but at the moment they are packed away from our move. I'm trying real hard today to stay on my eating program which is just low carb.

Yvette:
Way to goon the 3 1/2 lbs! That is great .. It's better to lose the lbs slow .. that way they are apt to stay off! I think you're doing just fine. Your new scale sounds great ... what brand is it? How are you doing on the water .. drinking more? Water is good - I love water, especially with lemon in it.

Synger:
So good to hear from you again ... boy I know what you are going through with the sinusitis cuz I've been fighting it myself. This high heat and humity sure doesn't help any. I'm waiting for my tomatoes to ripen in my garden (we have a late growing season up north here but they are getting there). Keep up the good work .. feel better ... come back and post soon.

Peggy:
Finally! Good to hear from you. I was getting a bit worried. I guess you do have a hectic life going on at the moment. Hope it winds down soon. Sorry to hear about your DM .. Boy I know about the dust tho .. we are now in the process of finally getting the back room done (it will be a computer room/office/game room when it gets done). I'm getting impatient to have it done. Don't worry about the 10 lbs - I know you and you will get if off. 6 more years to retirement - those 6 yrs will go fast - trust me, I know. Don't stay away so long now ... hope to hear how things are going with you soon. Keep in touch.

Sharon and Slyvia:
Where are you two????? We need you in here! Waiting to hear about your trip with the girls Sharon - and Slyvia, waiting to hear about your kitchen and how everything is going with you.

Marblefly:
Hello and welcome to our group! You are so making me feel "guilty" cuz I am not a big fan of exercise - how about you exercise for me? hahahaha ... Sounds like at the rate you are going you will be finding that waistline soon. Wow, we almost have the same birthday - how cool is that. One of my grand-daughter's b'day is the day before mine ... I predicted that she was going to be born ON my b'day and that she would be a girl (they didn't know) oh well, was right on thesex, and pretty darn close on the date. Do you read the QVC forums also? I like to see what everyone's opinions are on things ... someimes I post, but not often. I go by CJ there too ... how about you? Keep up the good work so far ... keep on posting - talk to you soon.

OK ...Going to go now but will be back later ... everyone keep on keep on posting and losing and exercising!

Later........
Love, CJ

Default I am here CJ!

Never fear CJ and the rest of you Thinsters, I am here!

Well I had a wonderful trip in Chicago with daughters, Kelly, Tracy and my niece, Ellen, who lives and goes to school, Loyala University in Chicago.

We were there 2 days and we really enjoyed it there. Did lots of shopping at the Water Tower and Navy Pier as well. Had lots of great food and for some reason did lots of Italian, my heritage cause the girls wanted to try that Deep Dish pizza Chicago Style Pizza that the city is noted for. But we did lots of walking too so gained like less than 2 pounds, which hopefully I took off by now. Kelly and I drove to Tracy's in Illinois and spent the night on Monday and than again when we came back on Thursday again. Tracy is further away from Chicago-5 hours than we are from Columbus, Indiana, go figure. But we had a great Mother/Daughters/Niece weekend and I loved being there. The hotel was only a couple of blocks from Michigan Ave, it was the Millinimum Knickerbocker. fairly old, it used to be the Playboy club and hotel. Bet the walls could tell some stories about that hotel I'll bet. Ha Ha

Now this week since Ken was on vacation I thought I would go someplace just the 2 of us, so surprised him with a trip to Louisville, Kentucky, only about 1 1/2 hours away from us. Got on Priceline.com again and got a really nice hotel, the Hyatt Regency downtown Louisville for only $70 a night. We were there 2 nights and had a good time. It turns out that the Hot Rods National was there this weekend so of course we ended up going to it, but even though I was bored Ken really loved it and I tried to make the weekend about him since I had my Chicago time. We ended up meeting a couple who lives there for the 1st time, who is in Ken's Charger car club and they connected and we all went out for dinner. To The Melting Pot, a great fondue place they have around the country. How fun was that? I loved it, we went with the other couple we just met. But of course Ken complained that for as much as we payed for the meal. we shouldn't have had to cook out own food. Ha Ha Men!

Will post in a minute messages to all. Otherwise this will be a novel.

Love you, Sharon

Default OK! Part 2!

CJ-Glad you had a great weekend with your son and DIL too. Don't worry you will get with the exercise plan when you are ready to. I have been trying too, going to my Curves class, trying to drink all my water, but the journaling like you shine at still isn't going great. How I wish I could be as dedicated as you are with it all. But hey 2 out of three ain't bad is it? Hope the remodeling is coming along fine and it will be over before you know it.

marblefly-Welcome to out great group! Glad to have you post with us. I too try to exercise before I get things done in the morning. Because if I don't than I will keep on stalling and before you know it, I can sometimes say the heck with it, it is too late to do this. So now I try to tell myself I have to get motivated in the morning. But gosh good for you doing your exercize at 5 AM, good for you. I wish I had that motivation, but I like to sleep in a bit, maybe till 7 Am if I can that is. Keep on doing what you are doing and that waist will be whittled down in no time. I am proud of you! I also love the "Paying yourself everytime too" What are you planning to do with all your money when you get to where you want to be?

Yvette-You too welcome to The Thin Group. It sounds like you are really motivated too and congrats on your weight loss. It sounds like those tapes would be of great help. I am sure they are working for you. I have tried motivational tapes before and they have worked for me and whenever I am feeling like I need them I can just pop them into and listen away. I also like my Leslie Sansone Walk Aerobics tapes too, tried Billy Blanks and couldn't do it, it was too powerful and strenous for me. Do you do Billy Blanks? If you can than you are a better woman than me. LOL

synger-Gosh so sorry about your sinusitis you are having. That is no fun, I had a sinus infection years ago and man was that ever painful. I think that is the same thing. I don't blaime you for the comfort food eating. I would be doing that too. Gotta have some comfort when you are in so much pain. Our tomatoes from our garden are not ripen yet, planted them a bit later than I should, but soon they will be ready and than it will be "Where is my salt shaker"? Well maybe the Mrs Dash shaker I should say. I love tomatoes so much and vegtables straight from your garden too. Nothing says loving like something from your garden right?

sweet tooth-Glad you posted again too. Things sure have been hectic in your life right now. Sorry about your Mom and her having glaucoma and hope she is better soon. As far as her living with you and your family, what a good daughter you are Peggy. I am sure she appreciates you being there for her. As far as you going bonkers, well we will help you try to stay sane OK? Just post when you feel stresses and we will be there for you. Trust me I know the feeling, since I have been a caretaker for my COPD brother, Jerry for almost 4 yrs I can really relate and maybe we can help each other.

Mom of 3 monsters/Norissa-How are you doing? I sure hope eveything is going great for you. Let us know how goes it!

Sylvia-Come on girlfriend and post again with us, we miss you so much. Hope things are less hectic for you than have been. I hope things are going well with little Nico too. Post when you have a minute and let us know how things are going.

Sherry-Hey how is it going with you? I miss you lots too and hope your life is going fantastic for you. What is happening in your life? Are you getting ready for school to start soon? Or is it already started yet? I know you are wanting the summer not to end. But I know you can't wait to see all those cute little kids again at your school. LOL Be good and I love you!

Take care guys and hope all is well with everyone! Hugs to all!

I love sweets. They are my down fall.
I'm 56 years old , been married for 36 years and have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren. I would love to hear from anyone. I need to lose about 50 pounds. I have been working out at a health club about 3-4 times a week and I love to work in my garden. We have a little over 4 acres so I have lots of room to garden. I'm spending just about as much time gardening as I'm spending chasing deer and moles from my garden!! I'm usually pretty even tempered but I have been known to get pretty angry when I see all my roses have been eaten.

Well, just got out of the hot tub and boy do I feel goooooood! I love my hot tub!

Sharon:
The bottle of buttershots (unopened) is still setting here with our names on it!

I guess we should add "thin wannabees" in our thread title ... I never even thought that people would not come here because they thought it was for "thin" people only. What do ya think - should we change our name? We could call ourselves "The Thin Wannabees" ... I picked up on Peggy's post to Marblefly on the "urgent" thread .. she said that we were all thin wannabees.

Marblefly:
I ordered the XL Mini Stepper from QVC tonite .. if you want to check it out the item # is F8717. I just have to make sure I actually use it when I get it!

Well, we had a really good turnout with our thread didn't we? We still have to hear from Slyvia and Noressa .. haven't heard from them in a bit - hope all is well.

SHERRY:
I miss hearing from you too! Hope all is well with you and your family. Come and post with us!

Later gals ... time for bed
Love, CJ

Me again ... I meant to ask all you newbies if any of you have MSN messenger? If so, send me a private message and let's trade names and we can chat sometimes there also.

Still waiting for you to have Ken download it for you so you can sign up again!
