There IS actually a reason that some people may order a cheesburger and a large order of fries and a Diet Coke. It is called diabetes.

I realize that eating cheeseburgers and fried chicken are by FAR not the healthiest choice out there (especially eating large portions) for someone with diabetes, but the fact is, you can eat a cheeseburger and still stay on your diabetic meal plan if you are careful...but a large fountain regular Pepsi or Coke is out of the question.

I totally agree that a lot of people out there are doing the "Diet Coke and donut" mentality-like they cancel each other out, but there are other reasons as well.

I used to be one of those people who would think why bother with the diet pop if you are going to have the double burger and jumbo fries but once I made the switch to diet I can't see ordering anything but a diet pop. Once you get used to drinking the diet, the regular pop no longer tastes the same.

I am constantly reminding my hubby that he is drinking away xxx amount of calories a day in just pop alone.
