I've finally gotten somewhat of a free moment!
This weekend was a lot of fun. My sister's baby shower went well. All the food there was pretty much OP (veggies, fruit, meat and cheese) but I really wanted a mimosa. I skipped it and ended up with a piece of cake. YUCK! It was the sweetest, nastiest tasting thing I've had in a long time! It upset my tummy and gave me cravings for more sweet stuff. I ended up making the truffle cake from the recipe section and eating a bunch of the chocolate chips. Probably not something I should've done!
Yesterday, I went to Shambala. What an amazing place that is! It's run by Tippi Hedren (the movie "The Birds"). It's a haven for exotic cats who've been brought there for a better life. Most of the cats have come from private owners who suddenly find out that a lion is not a house pet. They each have really unique stories. They bring you up close to the animals. You can't touch them but you can see how beautiful these animals are. We got lucky and got a bonus tour of a portion of Shambala that isn't open to the public. I got to see some of the most amazing cats and fell in love with a Florida panther named Jet. I'd love to adopt him but he's $50 a month. I don't think I can swing that right now. The Parrot Head club I belong to decided to donate all of our raffle/silent auction money from our Jimmy Buffett pre-concert party on April 5 to Shambala and they were completely overjoyed. It really is a worthwhile cause and I know that 100% of the money will be used for the cats.
I stayed almost OP yesterday. I packed a picnic lunch with sandwiches on WW bread, celery sticks, strawberries and cauliflower potato salad. Everything was good until I had a couple Pringles (Oh, I love Pringles!). That wasn't too bad but when we got home I was tired. We ended up going out to Olive Garden and having pizza. I only ate 1 1/2 SMALL slices so I'm back on P1 just for a couple days. I want to keep my weight in the 140's! Only 2 more weeks till my week of total off plan eating. Buffett concerts are not exactly OP (all that RUM)! I'm going to be strict until then. I have a wedding this weekend but have a credit in the cafe so I'm in charge of what I eat (NO WEDDING CAKE)! Good thing this bakery is not my favorite!
