Melissa, you go. Congrats on the loss. That's about how much I gained over the Christmas break and it took a while to get rid of it (Hmmm, why does it go on so easily?) The daffodil sale sounds like a great idea. I've always liked those flowers; they're cheery.

It's chilly here this morning--45 degrees and windy. We are having very strange weather here. I have play rehearsal tonight; I've been out every night this week! Yikes.

How about this saying? "Many enjoy the shade, but few rake the leaves."

Hi Everyone,

Beautiful here today. Sunny and not that warm, but definitely springy. Our peach trees are blooming which is lovely but scary. I hope we don't get a freeze.

Lisa, I liked the quote. Sounds like work to me.

Gotta go to a meeting.

Hi guys. Logging in from home. Have been flattened by the flu for the whole week. Am just starting to be able to sit up for short periods of time. This has been a bad one; I haven't been this sick in years.

Anyway, just wanted to check in and let you know I'm still alive (barely) and hope to back in the swing of things next week.

Susan,

I hope you get better soon, the flu is awful.

Nothing more to report here, sunny, sunny, sunny. Going to run out tomorrow and pick up some compost and start the garden clean up and snail slaying. Time to get those little buggers.

Having an okay day, had a bad one yesterday and I'm not going to let the meanies let me down.

Hi Ladies,

I went back to work yesterday and fortunately am not as buried as I thought I would be. The weather is yucky (again), snowing today and probably tomorrow. I think tonight DH and I will head to the new YMCA that opened recently in our town. We have decided that now that things have settled with Lauren's surgery we are going to try and get to the gym 3x per week. Got to get in shape again for spring! So does anyone have anything fun planned for the weekend?

Susan sorry you are so sick with the flu. Please take care of yourself and I hope you're feeling better soon.

Lala good luck slaying the snails. Hope today is going better, don't let those meanies make you sad.

Hi to Melissa and Lisa.

Well ladies we are having our "March" birthday luncheon in the cafe today. I think they are serving macaroni and cheese and salad. I love mac and cheese...give me strength to just have a small portion! Hope you all have a great weekend.

Tonight is rehearsal for the concert on Sunday. On Saturday I'm volunteering at a 5K race, doing registration, etc. I also hope to do some shopping on Saturday.

Pam, sorry to hear your weather is still bad. I'm glad that Lauren is really improving.

lala, have you tried the "beer method?" You put a pan of beer out and the snails drink it and die (at least that's what I've heard). Glad you're having sunshine.

Susan, you poor thing. Please get well soon. You were probably just getting rid of jet lag and that hit you.

Hi, Melissa.

Hi everyone! The weather here is snowy & cold.

I took yesterday afternoon off as a "mental health" afternoon and enjoyed a manicure, lunch, and a little shopping. It was a great afternoon and I felt so relaxed afterwards. I haven't had a manicure in years so it was a special treat

Susan: I hope you're feeling better. The flu is hitting hard everywhere along with respiratory infections.

Pam: Glad to hear you weren't buried at work. The university just entered an agreement with a wellness center that begins on Monday so I signed up and have an appointment with an excerise instructor to learn about strength training. I'm excited!

Lisa: I've used the beer method for snails and it does work--something about the brew that attracts them. Glad someone is enjoying sunny weather!

No major plans for the weekend--DH and DS #1 are going out of town so DS #2 and I will spend some time together. He has bowling tomorrow morning and they we're getting his haircut. In the afternoon the basketball team is getting together to shoot around a little and then they'll have a pizza party. I have a good book that I can get lost in.

Hi ladies,

I just wanted to post my amazement at ordering from zappos.com.

I ordered a pair of shoes last night around 8:30 my time and they were shipped out early this am and were delivered to me at 10 am today.

I opted for standard shipping, go figure.

Wow. Hopefully the shoes, little ballet flats will fit! They go with two skirts I am thinking of taking to Rome.

I have been really happy with my zappos.com purchases.

Melissa, manicures are great. I had one last month. What book are you reading?

lala, those shoes look really comfy. Of course they don't come in my size. I cannot believe you receive them so fast. That is amazing.
