Cool! I've dissected everything possible I think. We did an experiment with salamanders and growth hormone. THAT was a bit freaky. Salamanders are so ugly!
My favorite was the sea urchins we mated. They're so cute!

I love salamanders! Ok, I pretty much love anything that's not a bug

Baby sea urchins would be adorable.

I remember having monarch butterfly cocoons in my first grade class. We got to watch them open up and pump up those wings. Very cool!

I just can't handle the gills coming out of the sides of the salamander's heads. Gross! Put your breathing apparatus where I can't see it for crying out loud!

No hatin' coming from me either, Rhonda. I love dissections. I took a very cool zoology class in high school, and we dissected all kinds of neat stuff -- squid, shark, fish, etc. Every week was something new. I always wanted to be a veterinarian, so I loved that stuff (Still do, actually). I just don't do humans. I can't watch surgeries or look at dead people. Very squeamish about that stuff -- ick!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzz

Huh? What? Did you say something TG? I'm slipping into hibernation mode.

I actually like autopsies. I've been in on a few (don't ask how cause I won't tell). It's all well and good unless they're "overripe" or someone nicks an intestine. But it's that way with everything. It took a decent amount of practice to learn to look at a body as a body and not a person. Does that make sense?

Jog - So you don't watch Animal Precinct then.

Star - You are so right about the "over ripe" Living in the desert, first thing we ask in the summer is ifthey are "fresh death" if not, how long down. I don't go to homes with decomp. It's just gross. My employees are always trying to get me in the prep room with one 'cause they know I don't do that smell and it literally makes me sick for the rest of the day. Autposies, or posts as we call them, are so cool.

Rhonda- Isn't it funny the strange thing that just bug ya!

Oh heck. It's Friday. Would be a good thing if I thought it meant spending time w/DH. But he's got Turkey on the brain (not me--the birds that people don't think can fly). So it's off hunting he will go. I'm trying to figure out bills. I just LOVE (sarcasm) doing budgets and watching our money fly out faster than we make it. I seriously think I should get a full time job but I'm not quite ready to give up my time w/the girls yet. Selfish of me?

Brenda...Definitely not selfish of you!!! I'd say hold on to it as long as you can!

I went back to work about 2 years ago and still pine for days with the boys! And summer is the worst!!!

Yesterday, my oldest son (8) couldn't wait to give me the Mother's day card he made me. I was a paper they filled in from a copy that the Teacher had given him. One of the fill-ins read I like it most when my mom (he filled in) is at home with me. I just teared up and showed it to my dh!

NO Morti I don't watch Animal Precinct it makes me insane!! I will watch emergency vets though because that practice is very good and i know Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald and he is great!

We do posts on animals and I always ask how long they have been down too, YUcky stinky!! But even if they haven't been down for long but have a terminal illness it still stinks anyway!! hahahahaa LOL Morti I took Death & dying class in college and it was the best class ever. Marie another member on 3fc teaches a class that is really interesting along that line you should ask her about it.

SP I wanted to go to school to do forensics but I have the problem with children I can not get over it when seeing them deceased so I decided against it, it was to heart breaking. But the older humans I feel bad for but I could do my job no problem.

Brenda sooooooo not selfish, I think it is the other way around, if you can make it even barely then do it!! It is sooo important to try to stay home with them if you can. Not to diss any working moms either...I got love for you all too!! I am a 1/2 and 1/2 but fortunantly me and DH have opposite schedules so one of us is always home with them.
