Hi Lifetimers,

Hope you don't mind if I join your thread. My name is Pam and I achieved lifetime status a little over a year ago. The last month has been a bit of a struggle for me, so I've come to this board looking for support. I managed to lose my weight doing WW at home and have never attended any meetings. Seemed pretty easy in the beginning, but maintaining is the real challenge!!
I live in Massachusetts, so I can relate to the snow issues you have been discussing. We were actually pretty fortunate with this recent storm and only received about 6 inches. Better than the 11 they were predicting!!
You sound like a fun, close knit, supportive group. I've been a lurker for a few weeks and have decided to join in. Hope to be chatting with you again soon.

Pam

Welcome Pam!! It's always nice to have someone join in! Maintenance is definitely more of a challenge than losing weight, in my opinion.

I'll be celebrating 5 years at goal in June and continue to attend weekly meetings to keep my weight in check. I'm also a receptionist at WW. Our group is fun here and we discuss the ups, downs, challenges, disappointments, etc. of maintenance.

The official snow total for Tuesdays storm was 16.1" of snow--some areas had more than that. My muscles are finally recovering and today I'm not as sore. I went to my meeting yesterday and was up .4, not bad considering I felt like a beached whale, I know TOM is due to arrive next week and my muscles were still really sore and I felt tired so it was no surprise. I'm just glad it wasn't more!

Lala: Did you make it to your destination???

Domina: I bet your weather is gorgeous! Soon we'll have the green grass, flowers blooming, etc. The temps over the weekend are supposed to hit in the high 40's so a lot of snow should disappear.

My car decided to fight me during the storm on Tuesday and had to take it into the shop--I'm waiting to hear what's wrong with it. I'm hoping it's not going to be expensive...just when you start to get ahead something comes up!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Ditto on the welcome to Pam. I agree that Maintenance is tricky, but it's important to stay active. I know that's difficult when it's snowing!!

Melissa, I can't believe how much snow. 40 degree temps?? A real heat wave.

Hi to lala and Susan.

Welcome Pam. Always good to have new people join the group. And since you're in the snow belt too, I won't have to bear the pain of hearing about another garden in bloom Congratulations on losing weight on your own; that's really tough to do, IMO. Maintenance is a different kind of struggle. You say you've started to experience difficulty only recently. Is there any particular area that you're finding tough?

I haven't weighed in officially in a long time. I keep meaning to go but then I chicken out because I know how far above goal I am. I know, I should bite the bullet and weigh in - staying away is probably contributing to my weight gain. Sigh...I'm giving it one more week on my own.

Any plans for the weekend? I'm only in the office for a short time today, (meetings) and I'm off tomorrow. I have a bunch of chores lined up along with my runs. I did 4 km before work this morning. Will do 6 tomorrow and 3 on Saturday. We're gearing up for 14 on Sunday!!

Thanks for the Welcome!

Melissa 5 years at goal is quite an accomplishment. Do you enjoy working at the WW meetings?
Yikes...16 inches of snow, hopefully you'll get some nice warm days and it won't stay around too long.
My car also decided to be a problem on Tuesday. Brake issues..hopefully they were resolved with yesterdays visit to the auto repair shop.

Domina Yes, staying active is more of a problem for me this time of year. I enjoy walking and jogging outside versus the treadmill which I do not enjoy at all!! I think that's why I'm finding it a little more difficult to maintain. I did pick up Leslie Sansones Walk Away the Pounds tapes which I have been trying to do fairly regularly.

Seasaw Nope you won't be hearing about my garden in bloom for awhile. How long have you been a runner? Good luck with your 14 km on Sunday.

Be Well. Pam

Hi all!

The weather continues to be pleasant, although there's still quite a bit of snow the sun at least makes it a little more pleasant. I've been getting out for short walks on my lunch hour and that helps.

Pam: I'm with you on walking outdoors rather than exercising in the house/gym. I have the WATP tapes and only used them a couple times this winter--instead I headed outside as much as possible.

I got word on my car--the repairs are going to be to the tune of $6-700! Yikes! I definitely needed new brake pads but he also found that the linkage for the shifter was worn and needed to be replaced for inspection. I figure it's better to have him get it all done in one shot rather than setting up another appointment.

Anybody have any plans for the weekend? Mine should be fairly quiet. I'm fighting cravings for fried foods (PMS) and so far I'm winning the battle. I may just have to plan something in so that I don't go overboard later

Hi to Lala, Domina, Susan!
