WendyWants2Change Thanks for the encouragement, and I hope you have a good time on your trip!
My goal is a pound this month and I can't even do that...sigh! While I am so happy to have lost over 100 pounds I am not going to lose much more if I don't either start exercising and / or cut my calories back. To maintain my current weight at my age and being basically sedentary the calculators say I can only have 1500 calories a day. That really isn't a lot of food. If I want to feel full I need to fill up on low cal fruits and veggies. Of course to lose weight I would have to have less than that. Oh well...hopefully posting will help keep me focused and get more into gear.
loganandlivsmom: I'm also struggling. I keep doing the same thing and expect to lose weight, but I'm gaining. I'm having a hard time accepting that what I'm doing isn't enough. I feel like it should be enough, but the scale disagrees. It's time to have a big re-think and come up with some new strategies. Like you, I want to get focused and in gear.
gardenerjoy I am glad you understand, I was thinking maybe I came across as a baby whining about not losing. I do know basically I can exercise more than just "keeping busy" like I do around the house, yard, etc...but really even if I started walking two miles a day it would be maybe 200 calories burned. I know exercise is supposed to be more for than burning calories, it's to strengthen your body, improve your health, etc...but basically I am in maintenance with my calories and activity level.
With all that said, I am still going to work on my one pound goal this month!
Today's low weight is probably due to accidentally allowing myself to get dehydrated yesterday, but I'll take it, given how high my weight was last weekend! I will take credit for getting laser-focused on serving sizes. That definitely helped earlier in the week.
I am happy to report that I made the one pound goal! Miraculously I went from 152.0 to 151.0 in 24 hours, just in time for the last day of the month. LOL Each pound will be hard won now, but I appreciate them! Have a great Sunday everyone!
Congratulations to all of you who made your goals.
And a big hurrah to those who tried but did not make it.
Myself, I not only did not make my goal of 4 lbs, but I put on 4 lbs. Shame on me. For penance, I will give up 4 beautiful sexy Rhode Island Red hens from my haram. Honest And for good measure, I will toss in that cocky bantam rooster which has been giving me problems.
Now, I am going to crawl over to the July challenge and attempt to do better.
I ended up staying the same weight. but I have gone down a notch on my belt & I feel like I have a bit less spare tyre around my middle, so maybe I've lost a little fat & gained a little muscle.
