Good morning Beth we too have the same weather downstate. My weeds are loving all this rain lol. My cousin was a toll booth collector at the Whitestone Bridge years ago. I imagine very tedious until that one person wants to argue about delays and in that area they sure have them!

Debbie you are going to be hopping with that special. Good luck.

Ruth very sweet story. Such a lovely memory. My father was absent my entire life. I have one memory of going to the drive in movie. At least it is a good one. My grandpa took on the role. Not a warm and fuzzy guy, but really taught us so much. He chauffeured us around to Girl Scouts, sports, religion, friend's houses. Taught me how to fish. Didn't yell because I wouldn't take them off the line. Instead I would cut the line with the hook in the fish. At least I didn't loose hooks Well into his 70's taught me how to drive. He certainly had patience. Every time I buy strawberries or have strawberry shortcake I think of him. That was his favorite. We were very lucky to be raised by my mom and grandparents. I think we helped keep them young too

Linda I hope Jake and your dad enjoy their day. Nice you got to spend time with him Friday.

I'm staying put today. Going to tackle the house chores and make my grocery list. If the rain breaks I may walk around the neighborhood later check out everyone's flowers.

Have a great day.

Good morning,

We actually had a day with sunshine yesterday, we took advantage of it and mowed and me and DD2 weeded all round the house and the front walk. Looks much better.

Woke up to thunderstorms this morning but we should get a break in a bit, I think we are going to try and go to Six Flags (that is what DH wants). Need to call my Dad, wish I lived closer to them.

Cyndi thanks for posting, I will definitely have to try once I have a few bananas that get ripe enough

Have a great day everyone

Father's day and Summer Solis Longest day of the year!

Thank God for a wonderful Dad, but I lost him when I was in my 30's. So grateful to have had him so long. When I was in grade school I went with him on Saturday's as he visited the Car garages to chat with his former students. He taught Automobile Mechanics to high school students by day and Vets at night.

Because I associate the smell of a working garage with great Dad, I think that is a good smell.

Our daughter-in-law is far closer to DH than her birth father or foster father. DH has been a true Dad to her, our son-in-law and our almost son. I'm so lucky he choose me to be mother of his children.

More coffee needed now. We went to early Mass so we can go to the Art Gallery for our daughter's Art reception.

Sandy
