Thanks everyone - my appointment is tomorrow. I will keep you all posted….
Fingers Crossed - I need this!
I'm 27, not a mom but was pregnant for almost half my term before losing it, so I had gained roughly 20 lbs at that point, topping out at 202. I've been on IP for 3 weeks and 3 days now, down 12.2 pounds, so don't see why you wouldn't hit 25 pounds in ... what, 10 weeks?
You go this! And think how much fun you'll have clothes shopping with a little tyke pulling on the racks (in a good way of course!)
I can't blame Fort Mac completely … just came to town about 5 months ago. I spoke with Barb on the phone but she will be away so I will be seeing someone else…. Melissa maybe?
My situation sounds very similar to yours. I gained around 50 pounds with my pregnancy and only lost 30 pounds of it by the time my baby was a year old. Tack on some added weight after getting married and I found myself about 30 pounds heavier than when I got married. There are days when it's hard staying on program when I'm running after my daughter or trying to prepare a meal for my husband (who isn't on the diet but willing to eat dinners with me in support), but overall I'm seeing the weight come off and I can see that this will be a sustainable eating program.
One of the biggest fears I have is not teaching my daughter (and any future child we should be blessed with) good eating and exercise habits. My husband is great in that he pretty much prefers to reach for the apple than the cookie, but I only ever reached for the cookie. I'm hopeful that with this program 'resetting' my system I'll be more likely to make healthy choices, which will mean that my child will see me make those healthy choices and hopefully mimic them.
Take the jump and start this program! The first two weeks are going to be really tough, I'm not going to lie. But stick through those two weeks and you'll find that this program works, you aren't hungry, you'll feel better, and have lots of energy. I can't wait to hear your progress!
Melissa will be great! You will meet barb eventually. Tell her you "met" Anne on this forum. Barb knows me well!
You will do great. Find some foods you like and keep it simple to start!
If you ever go to Mitchell's they will even make you a barb salad that is ip compliant if you ask!
I can't blame fort mc either-I have been here 16 years, and only got fat about 3 years ago! Age and babies!
I am going to say YES U CAN. I live your post i also hv a 1 year old n gained 70 lbs while pregant. I started on IP but switched to alternatives bc its alot cheaper. I cook my family's dinner every night n mine seperately u can do it i didnt think i could and i am now on my 8th week
Good for you! I started IP 2 weeks ago had have lost 11 pounds so far, I am thrilled. It is really easy to follow and because the IP Store in my town is so lame, beyond lame really, I am doing the protocols with alternatives and also using Walden Farms salad dressing...just ordered some Miracle Noodles as well for some variety. I have done WW before and it worked, not this fast, but what I am liking about IP is I am much more aware of what kind of food I am eating and it's easy to check labels as well.
I wish you luck...stick with it, last night I was watching the Food Network and was thinking I needed something to eat and I wasn't even hungry but it all looked so good and yummy...I talked myself out of it and my weigh in this morning was so worth it.
If you stick to it, this program does work. I have 2 co-workers who have done it and kept it off, one for over a year.
You can do this, I started IP on 12 April, I just had my 5th WI and I'm down 28.5 lbs. I am 58 years old, and the older you get the harder it is to lose weight. IP works, it is difficult the first couple of weeks, but it is so easy to do just stick to the program. It is strict, but I need the regimen and accountability. This forum has lifted my spirits many a day!
You CAN do this .... as "strict" as the program is it is the easiest diet I have ever done. And 25 pounds by the end of July? Totally doable. I am just starting my 6th week and I have lost 20 pounds ... and I struggle to lose weight. My advice is to read through all of the recipes and what not that are on this site that has been a HUGE help for me. There are a lot of days when I keep it basic (literally raw veggies because that is all I have time for) but on the days when I have more time I scroll through the recipes on here and make something new ... it keeps me from getting bored with the diet. I love IP but I have to say without this board I may not love it as much - having the support and encouragement not to mention all of the help those who have been doing it for a long time have to offer really does help!!
Hey Everybody!
I am a 29 year old mom to a 1 year old little boy.
I gained 70lbs when pregnant and a year (& many diet attempts) later I am still carrying 35lbs of it.
