my normal smoothie

6 cups of spinach or kale
2 whole cucumbers
1 stock of celery
6 whole carrots
2 whole apples
1 large orange
1/2 lemon

throw all in my juicer, makes 4 cups and I'm good for the day with my fruits and veggies.

Am I doing something wrong?

What kind of juicer do you have?

I tried juicing including ordering regular juice drinks from a company. I didn't lose any more weight than any other diet approach. I also find smoothies (from a blender) far more filling than juices. Overall, I think getting the full nutritional content through whole foods is better for you and the act of chewing is more satifying and you can burn more calories by chewing.

My leader figured out the points for 4 cups of my juice 15 points. WOW thats alot of points to drink. I guess I'll go back to eating real food.

I have a Vitamix for blending and a Jack La Lanne Juicer for juicing. The person who said WW doesn't condone juicing and that juicing isn't good for you... that's a very ignorant viewpoint. Do some reading about juicing and its health benefits and people who have cured all sorts of illness using it.

WW condones all types of foods. That's the point. You can eat a wide variety of foods and still lose weight.

If I make a fresh fruit and veggie smoothie in my Vitamix I count it as zero points. If I juice with the juicer I count points because the fiber is removed.

I don't do juicing to lose weight. It may or may not be a side effect depending on how much you juice and what else you are eating. I do it for my health. It makes a big difference for me when I do it regularly, but I do get lazy and/or busy and slack off on it at times.

Karepie, I'm wondering if you did give up your juice I guess these posts were about a month ago.
Looking at the ingredients, I'm wondering how they figured out the points, did they just use the calories from each piece of fruit? just curious.
I would think the health benefits would be key.
I've been making a salad using the ninja to chop my vegs, before I thought I was doing good putting a carrot, cucumber and tomatoes in it, now I throw in celery and pepper as well, it works great, I do each separate, makes the salad much more satisfying.
I was reading about juicing, you can put zucchini, beets, etc. sounds great, finally got a juicer, made some carrot, apple, celery juice, it was great.

My final thoughts on this, if something is working for you, you should continue, if you're juicing and your weight loss is at a pace you are happy with and you feel good you should continue. If you're gaining weight or plateauing while juicing you should look at everything you're consuming and make an adjustment.

Here's to our continued success ::raising a glass...chin-chin::

Thanks, I will look it up. My leader doesn't approve of juicing either. I do a complete vegetable juice, and just count 3 points for it.

low sodium V8 is 70 calories, 0 fat, 3 g fiber, 200 mg sodiium.

i'm going to try and get off coffee...wish me luck, I'm hoping the energy boost I'm getting from the juice (I mean stuff I make myself, not the V8-that's for situations when I can't make my own) will help me get through withdrawals...

best of luck to all
