Good for you for pausing to recognize where the stress was coming from. Just admitting it makes it that much easier deal with.

Sad but true: TEENAGERS = STRESS, STRESS, STRESS . Been there, done that. My daughter was a handful during her teens and caused me so much stress and worry. I won't go into details, but it was really bad. Thankfully she got thru it and today is doing very well. I hope things work out well for you and your son. Hang tight and stay strong.

I'm so with you on this one. My beau has bowl of Halloween candy leftovers in his living room. From YEARS ago. First of all, in my home there would never have been leftover candy. I finally had to go cold turkey with eating it 6 years ago. And yet EVERY night I have to fight the urge to dive into his stale candy.

I think it is a life long thing, that you caught yourself and are stopping the stress eating is a big moment. YOU CAUGHT YOURSELF, and you can do it again if need be.

I think I will always have an issue with stress eating and sweets. I had not had sweets in quite a while, and last night I was low on cals, so I decided to go ahead and splurge and have 1 frozen fudge bar. I have been craving another since then. I will not give in though.

Good for you for recognizing your slip-ups and reining it back in before it gets out of hand. Sadly, I continue to struggle too. I don't think that I will ever have this food thing figured out completely. But I continue to improve. I have found that I can really eat in moderation (no matter if it's sweets, salty/fatty) at parties or celebrations. But if it's lying around the house I'm going to eat it and probably too much of it. I have found success in buying some treats for my family that I don't like but I sometimes still eat that stuff too. Trust me, you are not alone in this struggle.

I guess the point of this is that all we can do is get back on track as soon as we can.
