Thank you Shades for sharing some ideas with me. I am not certain that I am being as intentional with the oil that I should be getting in each week. I'm not 100% sure I know how I can fit that in, but I will make that more of a priority. I have been feeling bloated and overly full. I missed my period last month. I'm not pregnant, but I think my cysts are back and I have an appointment with my gyno this morning. I'm going to ask if PCOS is something I should be tested for. I want to rule out any medical condition also, because for as hard as I am working, something is off. Finding out what it could be is a high priority.

I actually really enjoy the fat free sharp cheddar cheese! My parents have always used this type of cheese and it's something that I miss when I don't have it. However, I haven't been using crumbled blue cheese on my salads like I enjoy, I'm thinking that adding that back into my lunches will help take up some points so I'm not left with so many at the end of the day.

When I make my "healthy pizzas" I do use regular motzarella instead of the reduced fat kind. I will definitely add the blue cheese crumbles and skip the guilt

Thanks again for your help! Good luck with your journey!

I bet the bloat is affecting the scale. Really push the water this week. I've seen a post on the WW message boards with ideas about how to get the oil in. Let me try to find it...

My favorite way to get the oil in is to cook my veggies with it. Especially if you roast the veggies, the oil makes them super yummy. Even if I steam some broccoli, though, I will just pour a teaspoon of olive oil over a big pile of it. It seems like that would be gross and oily, but it actually tastes really good!

Wow, that was fast! Here's the post that I see all the time on the WW message boards:

In memory of Awsum34:

"Having trouble getting in all your healthy oils? Here's some ideas. You only need to eat 2 tsp of oil per day. (1 teaspoon is a serving), so you can get it in throughout the day. Healthy oils are: olive oil, canola, sunflower, safflower or flaxseed. FYI: Fish oils, Oil capsules, Avocados, peanut butter, nuts, etc, do NOT count towards WW healthy oils requirements. Only the pourable kind counts.

1) Cook with it
2) Mix up a marinade for meats and/or vegetables
3) Mix it with meat or other sauces
4) Sautee with it
5) Drizzle over pasta
6) Drizzle over popcorn
7) Drizzle over vegetables
8) Drizzle over pizza
9) Drizzle over corn on the cob
10) Drizzle some over fat free cheese for better melting
11) Mix up some salad dressing (like olive oil and balsamic vinegar)
12) Rub it on poultry or fish before baking it
13) Rub it on meats so spices and/or rubs have something to stick to
14) Rub some on a baked potato
15) Grill sandwiches
16) Stir-fry vegetables
17) Coat some homemade baked fries
18) Makes garlic toast (oil and garlic on bread)
19) Add some to soups
20) Add some to smoothies
21) Mix 2 tsp olive oil to fat-free salad dressing
22) Add to anything that is fat-free
23) Roast vegetables with oil
24) Add canola oil to oatmeal, yogurt, smoothies, soups
25) Put some in salsa
26) If you eat frozen dinners, drizzle some over it
27) Make some herb or spice infused oil (for dipping or cooking)
28) Mix in some Butter Buds or Molly McButter for butter-flavored oils
29) Mix some in PB2 peanut butter
Good luck!! I think if you get rid of the bloat this week, you're going to see a big loss!

Shades!!! Thank you so much for those great ideas! I'm SO excited to give these a try. I also enjoy making my own "dressing" with EVOO and basalmic vinegar but I forgot that I like that (true story!!!).

My trip to the girlie doctor was a great success last Friday. I was tested for my thyroid (results came back with everything looking good--thank God!) and she started me on a 10 day hormone replacement that would induce a menstrual cycle (since I hadn't had one since early December). Two days ago, AF appeared and today when I hopped on the scale I weighed 257.2!!!!! I nearly jumped through the roof! There was no weight watchers this past Wednesday due to bad weather but I can't wait until next Wednesday to get my WW official results! I know it will be a great weigh in!

I truly believe that I was retaining water and bloated for an entire month! I feel SO much better about everything right now. I'm going to keep plugging away because this time, I am doing it.

Thanks for all of your help everyone! Looking forward to sharing this journey with you!

((HUGS))

That is amazing! Congratulations on sticking with it. I really hope you keep seeing the numbers fall off like that...it seems like it is making you feel great after a dry spell. Congrats!!!

Hi---I read through your posts. It seems like maybe your DR. found the problem!

I do wonder if you might not have hypothyroidism or PCOS (like you mentioned). I have been both since 2004 (at least that is when I found out). Your thyroid numbers may not scream out to a Dr---but you could still have hypothyroidism anyway. Every person functions best at a different set of numbers, or so I've been told. Only an experienced Dr. or endocrinologist can know for sure. If you feel lethargic, constipated, have dry skin, can't lose weight, those are all signs of hypothyroidism.

The thing I find frustrating about PCOS is that weight loss is the cure, but it also causes weight loss to be difficult---what a fun catch 22 for us who have it

Hang in there and keep following the plan! WW works if you stick with it--I really believe it is the most realistic weight loss plan out there (and I've tried a lot!)

Woo Hoo!! It's amazing how much water weight can make a difference!! I'm so glad that you stuck with it. I know it's hard when the scale doesn't seem to follow the work you're doing.

Weight loss can help PCOS symptoms usually, but it's not a cure-all. There are thin "cysters", after all. For the several years that I was at a healthy weight in my early 20s, I still didn't have a period that entire time (which is one of my PCOS symptoms). Sometimes doctors present it as, "if you lose weight your PCOS will go away", but I haven't seen that to be the case in most people. It surely seems to help, especially for infertility, but it's not a given.

Yes, you totally make a great point---it is not a cure-all, but my dr. just talked about weight loss as the best cure. Thankfully I get my period still, but I have other lovely side effects
