It's been another week of exercising and eating 1300calories and I'm still 195. The numbers make sense that I should be losing, but I'm just not. I tried cutting carbs more this week, and still noting. This is my second time at this weight and the first time the weight came off a steady 1-3 pounds a week, so it's frustrating it isn't coming off like it did when I lost before. I looked back at some of my fitday logs and noticed I was actually eating less then, like 1100 calories and it wasn't the best food (tv dinners, processed diet foods!). Here I am eating more vegetables and protein but I'm not losing.

I'm thinking maybe I should fast for a couple of days and lay off the exercise just to see if my body drops anything weight at all. Maybe it'll jumpstart it or something. I know my body can lose weight, so I don't think there's anything medical going on.

What did you do when things just weren't moving?
Isn't it annoying? I sometimes have times when I don't lose anything. Good thing is I also don't gain anything. All I can do is just try to change my diet some and maybe my workout routine. Just try changing things up a little bit to see if that works.

I stalled recently...I upped my calories to 2000 and kept my saturated fat to under 18 grams...and the scales moved within 2 days

I'm in a stall right now and am working on increasing my metabolism and changing my exercise. I already tackled other issues like water and sodium intake, etc. I'm trying to eat a small meal every 3 hours and even though my calories are the same it is making me so hungry between meals. Maybe it's a good sign.

All the replies on the stalling issue are excellent advice! I too have faced this same problem several times since I completely changed the way I eat last June (I don't like to use the word 'diet'). But please be encouraged...the weight will start to come off again. If you watch what you eat and the amount of what you eat and try to move around some each day...the scale will move again. sometimes after I go through these stalls and it is finally broken I will lose several pounds quickly before the next stall. I am in favor of calorie cycling it works besy for me. I think with our bodies we are dealing with chemistry here. And we have to find the best combination for our own body. But always eat lots of fish, chicken, veggies, fruit and drink water. You will feel good and look wonderful!

I would eat way more protien, I eat very good in the morning breakfast is my biggest meal but I dont go over board. drink loads of water. Are you working out? I personally dont think 1300 cals are enough for a person starting out but hey thats just me. I eat 1200-1600 cals per day and I hardly go near the lower end but i notice what helps me most is when I dont eat after about 7-8pm I almost always see a drop the next day!

For the most part I dont drink anything except water, I workout 6-10hours per week and so far its working well.
