I only have to deal with fast-food coffee for another two days! Then I'll be back home, where there are several great locally owned shops where I'd much rather spend my money. I should make it at home, but I just like stopping on my way and getting it in my reusable iced-coffee cup

I was a supervisor at Starbucks, and I would never have tolerated that kind of attitude from my employees. You make what is asked for, if it's not up to standard, you make it again and give them a coupon for a free drink next time to make up for the time spent redoing the whole thing.

What a horrible experience, I don't think we even have DD in Canada, but it definately makes me not want to go there.

There is a time Tim Hortons gave me Caramel instead of Vanilla, and I can't have Caramel due to an allergy. That really ticked me off.

If you make iced coffee at home, make it close to double strength and fill half with ice when your done, this way you'll get a good strength and consistency. Play around with it a bit and you'll get it the way you like

StephanieM, you'd be wise not to try DD. Even at the best of times, in my opinion, is mediocre, and I regret having gone there about 1/3 of the time (way too much milk, hardly any milk at all, spilling all over the place, etc.). The more I think about it, the more absorb it seems that I go there at all.

Haha, thanks for the advice If I ever see one I'll stay away. Again, I don't know if I could trust a place that handles gluten to not cross contaminate anything I order if I don't know them well.

I 2nd make your own at home, it will end up being much better for you anyway. They use syrups and powder mixes with tons of preservatives and who knows what else engineered crap is in there.

I make an espresso every morning with coconut milk and its much better than paying $4-5 for something fake.

That employee was clearly out of bounds. I'm not one to typically complain to someone's boss, not sure I ever even have, but in that case I would. I know people who specifically own Dunkin Donuts and I know they would like to know if their employees were behaving so rudely to customers. There are a lot of other people who would like her job and could do it without the attitude.

Yeah, my response would have been to ask for the correct drink. When the second one was wrong, I would have demanded my money back and never returned. Those people are taking your money and giving you generally unhealthy food in return, the least they can do is get it right. Time to start making it at home. :P
