Short and simple plan for me, no candy, moderate dinner, fruit instead of pie for dessert. Oh and a quick run before the morning activities begin :-)

We are doing a crawfish boil so if you don't count the sodium it's gonna be really easy to be on plan! My only Easter candy vice is lifesaver jelly beans & I put half servings in snack baggies. My kids have been picking those up & eating them & I hid two for me to enjoy!

We are hosting an Easter Lunch for 30 - I plan on very small 'samplings' and then a nice long walk in the evening!

We're going to my mom and dad's house - She's providing ham and scalloped potatoes, and I offered to bring a veggie (I'll pick up fresh asparagus at the farmer's market that morning) and dessert (I'm making a whole wheat tart shell, filling with a lightly sweetened, lemon-RF cream cheese-NF greek yogurt mixture, and topping off with fresh strawberries). That way I know I can fill up on healthy asparagus and enjoy a relatively guilt-free slice of dessert.

My BIL is hosting Easter dinner, so I have NO idea what we're going to have. His wife is Chinese, so they often serve something from her culture, but they also often serve various veggies. My MIL will probably bring muffins (I hope so.. they're the only thing DD8 will eat at her uncle's).

So my plan is to eat something before we go (and taking Cheerios for DD, in case grandma's forgets muffins), and hope they have something not-too-saucy for protein, and some veggies.

Easter brunch at church will be easier. The Fellowship committee provides egg casseroles, which are fine on my plan. Then there's fruit. No veg for breakfast, of course, but once I eat some eggs I won't be as tempted by all the baked goods. I find that when I've got some food in me, cakes and cookies aren't as interesting to me. When I'm hungry, watch out!

My biggest worry, actually, is jelly beans. My husband got the Easter basket fixings this year, and while I can easily pass by Peeps, jelly beans are a favorite. I plan to eat them 10 at a time, as desserts after a regular meal, and to check my sugars after eating them the first time, to see if they spike me too strongly. If they do, then they get taken to work to get rid of them.

I am going to have Easter Dinner although I won't be munching on treats. I've planned 2 cheat meals this month, Easter and my mothers birthday.

I plan to grill out at my house. I will be have turkey burgers on the grill . I take ground turkey with chopped onions and green bell peppers mix that together through them on the grill . I use whole wheat buns. Have a good salad or maybe some low-fat cole slaw. A sugar free strawberry pie......yum-o.

Luckily I am cooking dinner myself lol We are having ham and I am making green bean casserole - with lowfat milk, cheese, and mushroom soup, scalloped potatoes and deviled eggs. I also made a sugar free strawberry shortcake for dessert!

I'm making Cornish hens and roasted vegetables. I made an apple crisp for my husband and I made sugar free cheesecake pudding for me. No potatoes and no rolls, no sir. LOL

It took planning and being willing to do a lot of cooking myself, but I stayed 100% on plan. I am so pleased because I have reached a point where staying on plan is so much more important than stuffing myself.
