Heh. 190 is my marker for when I'm going to stop freaking so much about sodium, too. I dream of soy sauce. No, I don't plan to flip out and go into an eating frenzy, but I cook a LOT of Asian food, and want to cry when I see the spouse cheerfully splash soy sauce all over his, while I'm too afraid of having one of my epic sodium gainbacks to indulge. So if the scale would just cooperate and give me my ten-pound sodium buffer, I'd be pretty freaking happy.

Still, look at you! South of 200 again.

I do sodium bounces too... Sodium and simple carbohydrates are a scale challenge for sure. I can put on up to five pounds in a day from just sodium if I am not careful, but fortunately that is a rare occurrence.

Welcome BACK to onederland!

I'm glad to hear that I'm in good company with OTHER sodium bouncers.

Now this is just a theory... but do you think people that START OUT heavier have BIGGER swings due to sodium etc? it appears that way to me!

Given that our bodies are deeper into 'storage' mode than the average physiology, I could definitely see that being possible!

I can easily put on 5-7 lbs of sodium weight if I eat salty food over a period of a few days and it's around period time, I will for sure put on at least 7 lbs. I'm so used to it now I barely notice. I just make a note that is I eat Chinese or popcorn or whatever the scale WILL go up!

I don't think I've hit 10 lbs, but 5-6 for sure, doesn't take much to get there. Maybe I scare myself silly so I don't eat any more salt for the next few days so I never get to 10! lol!

Congrats on getting back into Onederland and keep going from here - that 188.5 milestone is going to be so amazing for you!!!

I consider myself lucky. No throwing things at the computer now, ok?

I'm about as regular as a man. I only wish I could LOSE like man!! I either gain two pounds throughout the day (from AM to PM) or I stay within a few ounces of what I weighed in the morning. Sometimes TOM may or may not make me gain weight. I have never experienced more than a 2 lb gain in a week from one morning to the next.

Now the down side is that I pretty much seem to stick to exactly the same weight for a very long time right down to the ounce!! Hey, I'll make a great maintainer! LOL!

I think the most I gained in sodium weight was between 4 to 5lbs. And I thought THAT was nuts... but whoa! 10! Yeesh!

Good point about the sodium - I will keep that in mind when I gain when I think I've eaten well one day!

I'd never critisize or throw things at the computer. We are all totally completely different... an experiement of ONE. So what concerns and changes MY body will not for others.

For example. I've lost 178 pounds in 18 months (as of Saturday). Calorie counting and exercising. I've OFTEN had huge swings of sodium. I've also had surgery during this time. Gall stones (that took 5 months to deal with) been on many vacations and trips etc. Someone else... might have dealt with these things differently or been unable to keep losing weight through them. But my body was receptive to what I was doing and kept dropping the weight. That does not mean that happens to everyone.

So what if I gain 10 lbs over a period of days? I can take that off easily... and I do.

It's nice to see I am in great company though!
