I recently purchased blank white coffee mugs and porcelain pins. I'm going to make some as gifts and also use some in my inside garden as planters.

Oh and my grandmother found 3 HUGE moving boxes full of various colors of silk ribbon at a yardsale for 10 bucks. I've always wanted to make a ribbon quilt, so I think I may since I have enough to start the project now!

I'm working on a scrap afghan for our king-size bed (to use as a bedspread). I'm making it floor-length with extra length at the head end, to fold over (about 120" square).

It's going to get a little unwieldy at the end (not a take-along project, that's for sure). I may even have to buy a skein or two to supplement my scraps.

With the expense and time lost by the move, Individual, handmade Christmas gifts (our usual) for everyone isn't going to work out - so instead we're going to be making gift baskets, including my homemade jerky which everyone in the family loves.

I plan on making gift baskets of homemade stuff, but mostly food-based. So far I'm set on beer bread mix in a jar along with a bottle of local beer, and chocolate-covered marshmallows. Could always use more suggestions.

I do want to make a few small crafty things to go in them, too. I've been spending a lot of time on the Martha Stewart web site lately. I'm thinking about coasters (these are easy, and these are so cool), and beaded snowflake ornaments.

I'm not the crafty type, so things need to be REALLY EASY for me to make!

Made up a quick no-sew fleece blanket last night...it was my first one, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. That'll make a nice gift for my parents. Also got a couple pieces of jewelry done, which is good progress!

Mayness - candied orange peel is an impressive and festive food gift - I make it every year and everyone loves it. I usually dip some of the candied slices in chocolate. People DO love the baking mixes...you might throw a chili mix (beans, spices, etc) on the side...can't think of anything better than chili and beer bread!

I love homemade marshmallows...we've made those around here before!

Fantastic idea... I remember putting this on a list of things to try last year, but never got around to it (and of course lost the list ). Thanks!

Maybe someone here sews... you might want to consider making and selling clothes for Zhu Zhu the hampster... Zhu Zhu is the biggest holiday toy of the season right up there with Cabbage Patch and Elmo... a friend was lucky enough to find the whole set of hampster etc...but she needed clothes, as they come 'nude'.. she found the clothes on Ebay... these people making and selling them are making a ton of money... Just an idea....
