Sounds like everyone had a great first week & most of us remembered to weigh in.
TOM is heading out the door thank goodness.
The kids had a 4 day weekend & it threw me off kilter, so I'm glad they're back in school today.
I won tickets to see Margaret Atwood read from her new novel next week. I can't wait.
Hope everyone had a good tuesday.

Thanks CakeBatter, Kim and MythreeSons!!! I hope everyone had a great day... I have had quite an emotionally draining day... for anyone who prays out there.. prayers are greatly appriciated..
So even though it was a rough day, and the last thing I wanted to do was eat.. I did anyway and got my calories in.. ended the day at 1,849.. so am happy with that.. heres hoping for a better weigh in next week with the changes.. I already feel a differance and a small .2 differance in weight.. lol
IgetFit... trust in the Lord and He will see you through anything..I am praying for you and your walking group and that poor dear soul who is obviously so very lost

to all!

CanadaMel - Weekends can definitely be tough. YAY for the tickets!

IGetFit - I think what you are doing is wonderful. You need to remember all that these people have gone through in their life...I would probably be bitter too. I am sure that you will continue to do a great job!

Mommyofsix - YAY on the pound loss! I am starting the 30 Day Shred tomorrow and I am so nervous it is going to kick my butt!

Sunni - WOO HOO! 1 lb is great!

Hi all!

Igetfit - I admire you for working with these women. It takes a selfless person to give themselves to this and it's very inspiring! My thoughts are with you and your ladies. Hope you all have a wonderful walk!

I'm so jealous of you chickies with TVs. I haven't watched a single episode of TBL (any season). Although, if I had a TV, I'd probably be mush on the couch within an hour. I get addicted. Hehehe.

Jasonslea - it's been raining like CRAZY here in NC! I think it started around 4 and it just ended 20 minutes ago. At least my basil plant is happy! We're also glad we won't be suffering from a drought this year.

CanadaMel - I read Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale a few years ago. It creeped me OUT! I've been too weirded out to try another book of hers. She is a good author though, so lucky you for attending a reading!

I have some ideas for weekly challenges - dunno if these would work. I haven't watched TBL.

Challenge idea #1:

Try holding a simple yoga position for as long as possible. Work up to harder positions.

Sample positions

Challenge idea #2:

We pose challenges for the rest of the crew and whoever completes the challenge first, gets to set the next challenge. So for instance, if I start, I could say something like "Do 100 jumping jacks by Thurs." Whoever does it first (and posts first) gets to set the next challenge. It has to be something that people of all fitness levels can do, so basically calisthenics.

Suggestions:

a. Jog for 90 seconds (in place or outside)
b. Do X jumping jacks
c. Do X pushups
d. Do X situps
e. Walk 2 miles

Hey everyone. I am so excited, I ordered a GoWear Fit last night! I also bought the digital display to go with it. It hasn't shipped yet but I'm hoping to have it by early next week. I've been wanting to get one for a while and have finally decided it's a good investment. I haven't been doing to good with logging my food. I've still been watching and remembering what I've eaten, I just haven't been logging and keeping track of the calories/points. I'm hoping having the GWF will help me stay on top of this since I'll want to see the comparison of what I've burned to what I've eaten at night when I transfer the data to the computer. I've just been devoting all my time to school lately. Then TOM showed up today and has given me horrible cramps. I figured exercise would help and did 30DS, then they got worse and I slept for 2 hours. Hoping tomorrow will be better.

On a better note, I am going on a trip to Panama City Beach, FL with my Biology class to collect fish (the class is Biology of Fishes). So I am planning on having a good loss for this week. We are going to be doing lots of swimming, walking, and collecting. We are staying in tents in St. Andrews State Park since that gives us easy access to both the bay and the Gulf. Hopefully I'll actually learn enough to help me with my midterm for this class!

Hi Red Team,
I had a great weekend, it was just the day on either side of it that have been terrible. I didn't eat the best last weekend, I had some fruit that I ate, but I did give in and eat some faire foods, not the bad real bad ones but some things I shouldn't have. I also drank a little wine (free samples, yum) and some things from the bottles that went around the fire. Since I don't drink it didn't take much. I only sold one basket, but wasn't putting any effort into it. I did get to see some fun shows and hear some great music. But best of all was seeing some friends I have beenout of contact with for a long time, and meeting some new people. That's going to be my last ren faire for the year, and I'm looking forward to next year, even tho I'll need all new garb. I took my bodice in as far as it will go and still the girls fell out the bottom. I just couldn't get it tight enough.

The part that wasn't good is that my brother has been in the hospital, he has had a heart attack and has had angioplasty twice in the past week. He weighs 300 lbs, smokes, eats crappy food and doesn't get any exercise, yet wonders why his health is so bad, and I'm the bad guyif I mention getting more exercise or eating healthier. Since he isn't married, and my parents are in bad health I've been the one driving them backa nd forth and taking care of everyone. I'm getting so burned out, and so very glad I got away last weekend.

The great thing is only 4 days till My Son gets home!!!!!!!!!
I hope everyone has a great week, and thanks for letting me vent.

Working on weigh-in data now...hopefully, I'll be able to post it tomorrow before work, but it might be tomorrow night. Lots of people to get through.

And, I like your idea of the challenge one another Sunni. We did this one time and it was great. Thanks!

Hi everyone!

I did another 2.5 loop walk this AM after taking the kids to school. I seriously cannot wait to be able to run it. I'm actually so out of shape I might not make it the whole loop when I start but I plan on being able to do it within 4 weeks of starting!

My throat is I'd say 75% recovered. Meaning I can eat a lot more than I previously could, but it's still sore and I am still more tired and drained than I am used to due to healing. It seems I only have to take my pain medication once in the AM and that's probably because I spent the night sleeping with my mouth open LOL. So I am looking forward to not having to be on that for much longer.

My Mom leaves tomorrow afternoon, and she's been such a great help it will be sad to see her go. She and I butt heads a lot, especially in that first week but we found a way to make it work and it's been good. I'm ready for my DH to come home too, but that is a little less than 2 weeks away. He's been gone for a month for Army training in the desert with very little communication. In that time I had my surgery, commuted the kids the hour + drive each way to school until we moved, packed and moved to our brand new house and am now unpacking, setting up the new accounts for the house and preparing for my oldest son to start receiving services for his newly diagnosed autism. Oh, and someone very special to me died in that time as well. I think given all I went through, I kicked September's butt! I can't wait to make October more about me, my weight loss and my exercising!

Hope you all had a great day - keep it up. Each day is important, don't let yourself give up thinking you'll make it up tomorrow.

Nicki - Good job!!

Cakses - Wow! With everything you've gone through, you are a really strong woman to not let your weight loss slide. That's amazing and it's an inspiration to us all on here! Glad you're on our team!

Rangerchic - no prob!

Bette - I can imagine how you feel. When my mom would gently imply that I was gaining weight and I should start exercising and eating healthy, I would get incredibly defensive, maybe because I didn't see the gain as well as she did. Eventually, I came around and saw for myself that I was tired of being overweight. Hopefully, your brother will see the light too. If not, - that must be hard!

As for me, I'm tired from yesterday's 4.75 mile walk so I'm going to take a break with the exercise today. Have a good day all!
