I've been on Arnour Thyroid for some months, after being on synthetic hormores for about 5 years. My problem is that I don't convert T4 to T3 - hence Armour works because it has T3 in it. I sure feel a lot better. And yes, a month or two after I started Armour I found it was difficult to come by. I do NOT want to go back to synthetic hormones. I use a compounding pharmacy, here in town, and they make up my dosage. I HOPE they don't run out of the powder.

The only time I have been able to take off weight, since my thyroid was destroyed, has been on ATKINS.

Never believe a dr who says your test was "normal". You need to go by how you feel if you have hashi. Numbers tend to jump when you have the autoimmune disease. Get your numbers.

A lot of people feel better on natural but companies don't make as much money off of it. Natural has all the T's. Synthetic just has t4.

I felt like crap on t4. I just put my prescription through canada. (check out stopthethyroidmadness.com site. I need my tsh near 0 to be as functional as I get. It's how YOU feel that counts. You will feel jittery on too much and will know you're taking too much. Another plus to armour or natural you know immediately how you feel. Synthetic takes a few weeks

Hey Wannabe

my TSH is also 0 on Armour (natural thyroid meds). it's normal for the TSH to be suppressed with taking natural thyroid meds. and you are so right, it is more important how you feel and if your hypo symptoms are being treated.

I am currently taking compounded Armour while we are having trouble finding our natural thyroid meds, but Naturethroid should be getting easier to find.

stopthethyroidmadness is a great website. great info. there is also a lot of great info on the facebook page called Save Natural Thyroid.
