Thanks guys. Whenever I go to the gym they just basically cram it into everybody's head that you need to be jogging and/or running to be losing weight. I have tried the elliptical a couple times, but I still don't know how I feel about it. I love walking at quick speeds on the treadmill, because my heart rate does get up, especially when I up the incline every couple minutes, I can really feel the burn! I have never heard of the couch 25k program, what is that? Is it a video or just something you do on your own?

The Couch to 5k program is from the website coolrunnings.com and it gives you a 10 week program with 3 workouts every week. It gradually builds you up to be able to jog/run a 5k. But it obviously does involve jogging/running. For example, I think the first week is like warm up with walking for 5 min. then jog 90 seconds, walk 2 min, jog 90 sec. and repeat that for 20 min. Then the next step is to walk 5 min, jog 2 min, walk 3 min, jog 90 seconds for 20 min. I started this and it was hard to do 3 minutes but now I can do 20 minutes!

You know, I know what you mean about walking really fast on the treadmill, though. I think it works well, too. I do it sometimes and try to hold my stomach core muscles tight (like they do in pilates or tae bo) and I feel like my stomach gets a little smaller and tighter afterwards. I think as long as you're working out and progressing and getting your heart rate up, it doesn't matter what you do as long as you're active

Good luck

Oh, and I forgot to mention that it's not a video or anything. I just printed it out from the website and follow the times.

O alright thanks! I don't think I'm quite ready for that but I think I will take everbody's advice and just try out certain things and see what works for me in the end, cause that's really all that matters.
