Every time I see this thread title I get all Dr. Seuss-y! Sorry, can't help it!

Would you count them here or there?
Would you count them anywhere?
Would you can count them in a box?
Would you count them with a fox?
I do not like them, Kier-I-Am,
But yes I love Green Eggs and Ham!

I'm sure with that entry you're all really glad to see me posting again, right?

Default Hey Ko!

Counting calories......well, I knew at some point in my WLS decision that would come back to haunt me! LOL! In last nights paper, there was an article about it is not about the type of surgery, type of diet, etc, but actually how many calories you are taking in a day. They said that any type of diet that you can actually stick to is a good thing, but all of those are of no use if you don't expend more calories than you take in.......OH HECK!!! I know that is true and figured when my NUT said 1500 cal. a day is a good number, that I would have to seriously think about that again at some point. So, I'll stay on my low carb, but have really seriously been thinking about the quality of things that I put into my gut. At 18 months the NUT suggested that I could decrease my protein intake to 50-60 grams a day. So I figure that I will be able to fill up on my lower carb veggies and less meat. I'm a carnivore and never figured that I would ever get tired of broiled meat, boiled meat, stewed meat, fried meat (within reason) and baked meat. But, I am! LOL!!! I just plan miss a good old salad, but really don't have the room right now for a salad if I eat my necessary protein. Of course I know there are other ways to get your protein in and do that, but when you have to get in your necessary fiber, dairy, fruits and veggies and protein is your first concern it can be a little overwhelming at times. I would love to have a nice healthy colon, LOL!

P.S. Leaving for warm, sunny, did I mention warm, Arizona Saturday and I will get to see the Grand Canyon for the first time. Did I mention the sun and it has been in the eighties. Can believe I might actually be able to only wear and undershirt and a tee. I've still packed a nice thermal sweatshirt and a light weight jacket. My DDs and I went spring clothes shopping at all the second-hand stores and they split a gut when I asked them if there was anything "warm-looking" on their rack.
