I had to tell people, for fear of if I didn't I would just let myself give up.... Everybody close to me knows, which means if I let myself down, I let them down in a way, and probably lose some respect in the process.

I did the same, told my people what I was doing with weight loss. It really and truly kept me on track.

I believe it's working for me too! It's the first time in my life I've been successful and serious about this. I don't know if it was because of my actual real decision to do it, or telling everyone.

I agree with the telling people thing- i mean not like drilling it into everyones brains...but just mentioning it so-like you said you are sort of letting them down if you fail/you realise they will see you as a failure (as bad as that sounds it is an unbelievable motivation for me).

i Know a girl in your sort of situation to- her mum is worried about her because she just got home from college and has put on about 20 kgs in the span of about 3/4 months so she has offered her $100 for every kilo she loses (but i dont think she really cares enough to start trying, which is sad an i wish there was something we could do without offending her).

anyway I said to my mum "if that was our deal id have over a thousand dollars by now! and she just laughed an said, yeh but i know you can do it without the money cos look how far you've come"(ace i know you can do it without the money too! its just a little bonus right!) ....dam i shouldve mentioned it at the start!!haha
