If you are eating tuna, eggs, tofu, beans etc.....then you are getting lots of protein! What makes you think you aren't getting enough?

My vegan teenage daughter is healthy as a horse and she eats mostly beans, tofu, nuts and veggie meat for protein, her Doc says that is more than enough and that most No. Americans eat TOO MUCH protein (although the doc is also vegan!)

Egg whites are also a good source of protein, I buy them in a carton where they have already been separated for $2.00. The easiest breakfast is just adding veggies and having an omelet.

How much protein are you trying to get?

Although it depends on what type of food plan you have, I'm not sure we "need" as much protein as we're told we do (of course, some people prefer to have more because they prefer the way they feel on a higher-protein diet). Example: I only try to get 40-45 grams per day (I have more on some days, of course). I determined this based on .37 grams per pound of body weight, the recommended daily allowance. The average American (assuming that is where you are!) gets more than the RDA for protein.
