Make sure if you're on any kind of daily meds to check how they go with vitamins.

I know I have to space out everything I take due to how they affect each other's absorption, and it can be frustrating. I have morning meds, after lunch vitamin, evening meds because vitamin interferes with both and my evening interferes with my morning.

Most of the time it's not a problem but it always amazes me the number of patients who have been taking something with their multivitamin for years and years and never realized (such as thyroid meds and calcium or iron salts).

I take a multi daily, and I was taking folic acid for a while as my doctor recommended it.

i never took vitamins. then i started taking the chewable kind bc i would only remember to take something daily that tasted like candy. then i realized there was practically nothing in them, so i manned up and started taking the generic 1 a day weight vitamins. surprisingly, i remember daily.

I always feel so wordy when I reply to these things but...

You could try checking your intake using a calorie counter. I think Fitday and Prevention's Healthtracker (what I use) are the same. You plunk in everything you eat and it will give you the breakdown of vitamins in your food. You can see where you are lacking. I surprisingly get way more B vitamins and iron than I realized and other vitamins are more lacking. Because I eat so little dairy, even with the multivitamin, I am still below 100% for calcium and osteoporosis runs in my family.

Speaking of multivitamins, about a month ago I started taking them everyday, which is amazing, I am not a creature of habit. Around that time, I had a pregnancy scare. I was experiencing morning nausea and dizziness. Man that was scary. I was a week late. When TOM came and I was still having morning sickness I seriously investigated and found out that my daily multivitamin was giving me morning sickness!!!

So right now I don't take it. I don't know what to do actually. I've experimented a little and taken it and been fine one day and then the next day I practically have to run out of my classroom and barf out the window. It's too bad, I have faith in vitamins!

I take a One-A-Day Women's vitamin along with B-12, Folic Acid, and Iron for my anemia. I was often tired, moody, and dizzy and even though I knew my iron count was low, I thought that it wasn't low enough to be a real problem (a normal count is 38, I'm often around 35 or 36) but my doctor told me differently and put me on the extra vitamins. I can really tell a difference in my mood and when I get enough sleep, I notice that I'm not tired like I used to be after getting 8 hours (but I have to get my 8 hours in to notice that difference, haha!).

My brother says I take more pills than my grandparents, haha

I take WellMan Multivitamin ..it packs up almost everything you'd require (I'm a guy)

I recommend trying WellWoman's multivitamin..they claim that its specially designed for women ..you may like to check with your doc though.

Hope it helps.

I take Multibionta, which is a one-a-day multivitamin supplement containing probiotic cultures.

I eat a pretty healthy and varied diet so I don't think I am in desperate need of a supplement, but the way I see it is that it certainly isn't doing me any harm. Besides, I'm pretty sure I feel a positive effect on my digestion from the probiotics. There's a possibility that it may just be a placebo effect, but I really do feel it's having a beneficial effect for me since I started taking it about 6 weeks ago.
