Hey there-

Are these goals also your abstinence definition?

In OA we define our abstinence so that it's something concrete we can evaluate (kind of like goals). However, instead of leaving them open ended, we strive to remain abstinent everyday by working the steps, asking our higher power for help, and using the tools of the program.

So, I was asking if those goals are also part of your abstinence.

Try fizzy mineral water....I quit drinking soda a month ago and have found that the fizzy water helps SO MUCH. I get the kind that has Lime essence so it has a little flavor...you can do it!

I havent found a OA group in my area of Canada so I wasnt sure what you meant.LOL But I definitely would say that obstaining is going to be the only way to go for me when it comes to pop. When I am at work it is sooo much easier to stay on track cause i bring food with me, but since i live at home I find that my mom's mere suggestion of something I know I shouldnt eat makes me want it more.

I can relate to wanting more of something just because someone tells me that I shouldn't have it.

Do you have the OA book 12 steps and 12 Traditions? I highly recommend that you get it and read step 1.
