Good morning everyone! Well today is voting day for our municipality, but I am not holding out much hope. We have no term limits so the current scumbag mayor is running again, another black candidate, a pain in the behind city council woman and the republican has alzheimer's from what I hear. Our city elections don't identify political parties, but I know that this man is a republican. So, I am armed with my little piece of paper telling me who I want to vote for what and we will go when Jack gets off work.

Susan: I can't believe that poor man is having to go through more medical procedures. I will pray diligently for you both. I know it has to be such a rough time again. Hopefully they can fix it and he can get on the mend quickly.

Jean: I think I would be putting in my retirement papers! What a mess that school seems to be in. You are a brave woman sticking it out. Hope bell practice went well.

Shy Moment: My grandson is considered gifted, but his parents really stay on the school system to do what is right and make sure his education is up to snuff. Schools have become too much a business anymore with employees instead of teachers who love to teach and make a positive influence in a child's life. I wouldn't want to have to go through it all again for anything.

I get to leave in 3 weeks to go see Jackson. I am so excited to be able to get to see him. They will be here for Thanksgiving so we will get to see them next month, then we are going up there at Christmas so we will get to see him then too. We are trying to make it up there every 3 months next year if we can. They grow up so fast.

I guess I better get to work and get chores done. I kept the car today to do some errands and I need to get house stuff done first.

Have a good Thursday.

Good Afternoon, Flowers! It is clouding over and looks like it might break loose and rain. It is quite humid and warm again today. We get out of school at 1:30 tomorrow for the parade, and will have all 8 periods for about a half hour. The kids will be hyper plus!

Rennie -- My husband is of the firm opinion that schools should be run like a business. Send your child and send a check! That way the students who do not perform, or are behavior problems, are out the door just as an employee would be in the real world. Teachers have to put up with way too much crap which takes away time from the students who want to learn and do well in their classes. Unfortunately it is the good average student who gets lost in the shuffle. In Iowa a child has to be 5 by Sept. 15th in order to go to school. We now have "before and after" school programs (free babysitting) for those who qualify as well as "free" preschool classes for low income families. With all of the paperwork involved teachers don't have enough time to teach any more. By the time they are the nurse, the social worker, the mom in many cases, etc., it's no wonder the burnout rate is rising. It's good that you are on top of things at the IEP meetings.

"Gma" -- My year, overall, is going much better than last year. I do enjoy going into the math classes although I could do without the reading class because that is all snotty 9th graders who think they already know it all. I think our election is next week (month?). One gal who is already on the council said she really didn't care if she got re-elected or not because this would be her last term either way. She has been "Miss Goody Two Shoes" for the you-know-who in town!

I need to go pick up my prescriptions so better get a move on. Have a fantastic Friday tomorrow.

Jean -- from Iowa!

I deleted my post Jean. I just can't even respond to that without getting angry.

Thank you. You do have some very good points that i totally agree with.

Think I have worn myself out. The house is done, the laundry is done, the windows are done. I didn't get the yard done but the kids said they would do it tomorrow. Going to really enjoy this weekend. There is a lap top there so I will check in and say hi.
