I first saw that quote on a pro-ana website many years ago. And while I am not "pro-ana", I liked the quote a lot and I've always remembered it.

"You can't decide when or how you're going to die. You can only decide how you're going to live--NOW."

I LOVE that quote.

I think you're right, prettyone. I remember anorexic friends that totally went by this quote and I've hated this one ever since. It seems to give the implication that being thin is more of value to them....

Well when I think of it, I imagine more of a pudgey women eyeing a casserole dish of brownies than an emaciated 14 year old eyeing a saltine.....puts a better spin on something than could be taken negatively

I always felt there was something a little off about that quote... and now I know! Heh.

I'm not a big fan of "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" for the reasons mentioned above... it's just too tied to pro-ana and disordered eating for me. But, for people losing weight in a healthful manner, whatever mantras keep you going is what's right for you.

Here are a few I like right now:

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” - Maria Robinson

“The difference between perseverance and obstinacy is that one comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won’t.” ~Henry Ward Beecher

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.
