When I first started SB, I was trying very hard to get the 64-oz a day, and it was challenging. And I don't mind drinking water! After looking into it, I decided that the 64 oz doesn't really seem to be magic. Now I drink when I'm thirsty and don't stress about it. I pretty much never drink that much, usually 32 - 48 oz a day of plain water, then probably another 48 oz in coffee, tea, milk, and V8. It seems to be working fine, and I'm definitely taking in probably twice as much liquid as before SB. Also, I've hardly had any sinus issues, which were terrible before, and I think it's either the water or the minimal wheat consumption. Anyway, these folks that are drinking 128 oz/day, I'm not sure how they're managing that, and I'm not sure it's a good idea either. It doesn't seem natural... How many cavemen were lugging around gallon jugs of water?

They put me at between 16-20 cups a day . . . I'd be in the bathroom all afternoon and evening! In fact, the farther over 9 I drink I end up having to run for the bathroom every time I stand up. Now sometimes that's funny, sometimes it's aggravating, sometimes it's just plain impossible and then the fun really starts!

Very interesting. I'll have to really watch how much I drink (I know that I drink a lot of water--I have a half liter bottle at work that I refill at least 4-6 times per day PLUS what I drink at home!)

A person who is 143 pounds
and is exercising for 30 minutes ,
is not pregnant,
is not breastfeeding,
does not live at a high altitude,
lives in a dry climate,
drinks 0 alcoholic drink(s),
when the weather is very hot or very cold,
and is not sick with fever or diarrhea should have:

98.5 ounces of water today, or 3 liters.
If you eat a healthy diet, about 20 percent of your water may come from the foods you eat. If you eat a healthy diet you can drink 78.8 ounces of water today, or 2.4 liters.
