Good morning to everyone! I woke up around 3 and couldn't get back to sleep so decided to come downstairs and do some work on the computer and knit and such.
Susan: We have this super high ceiling in our stairwell to the upstairs and Jack used this long pole and a specially made roller that screws onto it to do it. I worked great actually, but I don't blame you for hiring someone to do it. We need to repaint, but it isn't something I look forward to. It isn't too bad, but I usually do touch up in the spring and this year I didn't so our cabinets and such need some touch up and a couple of the rooms could use a coat of paint, but it is going to have to wait.
Jean: I need to get some ornaments for the kids for Christmas too. I'd like to get a baby's first Christmas one for Jackson and something cute for Thomas, maybe a video game one or something if I can find it. So many of the Hallmarks here have gone out of business it is hard to find them. I need a couple cards so I need to get searching for those too. The book I am reading is a true story and so sad. The dentist that murdered his wife had murdered his girlfriend in the exact same way and they originally ruled her death a suicide, which they started to do with the wife, but things just didn't match up right, etc, etc. He was convicted in Sept of last year I think it was and was going to go to trial, but the investigators finally got a friend of his to admit he gave him the gun that was found under the wife and with that and the fact they had evidence that proved he used his cell phone around the time of the murder and was close to their home (cell phone tower evidence) he took a plea bargain for both murders. He got two life sentences, but the just let them run concurrently so the scum could get out in as little as 14 years! His poor little boy, who is 9 now, is in therapy feeling that it is his fault his mom was murdered because he couldn't protect her and he kept saying he knew his dad killed her. Ann Rule, the author, is a great true crime author and has written books on everyone from Scott Peterson to the Green River killer. I think she has written something like 27 true crime stories. She is our age, but she used to a police officer at one time, has a PHD and works with the FBI on cases all the time. I guess whenever they want to do a movie on one of her books, she produces it too. As for my swimming, it actually helps a great deal to strengthen the knee. The problem lies in getting in and out of the pool. The cement steps don't have a hand hold and the metal steps that I usually use I can't because I don't think I could haul myself out putting that much weight on the knee. I usually use a deck chair and sit it next to the edge of the pool and use the cement steps that way, but I am waiting until Monday to go back to swimming.
I worked on the sweater some yesterday, but got caught up in the book. I finished it and worked some more on the sweater so am ready to sew up the sweater and put on the neckline then finish the sleeves.
Well, I need to go and get a couple chores done before Jack gets up. Normally I would keep the car today, but I am not sure I want to be out and alone walking around in stores and stuff just yet.
Everyone have a great weekend!
