Just throwing this out there... are you having your two lites a day in addition to staying POP with the food?

Okay, here's my 2 cents...

Like Debster, I tried the 8 week makeover and totally flopped. I was barely losing and after a small TO loss I would gain it back! I finally sat down with my counselor and we worked out another plan. Basically I do what they call the "results" program. Since I have stuck to this regime I am showing a 2lb loss, sometimes more per week. I am not hungry and I have moved down a pant size!

Basically the "results" program is using the slimdown shakes for one meal replacement for 5 days then doing my regular plan (no shakes) for two days. The next week I only eat from the results menu, which is lower calorie proteins, fruits & veggies. I DO NOT do TO and they agreed to let me use the $$$ I forked over for TO juice towards slimdowns or other products.

It took me some time to get into a routine that would work for me. I have a super busy life that involves heavy travel and I was losing but very slowly. I stuck to the program and worked with the counselors to find a good balance. Don't give up....you will get there!!!!

You could always cheat and do an extra half-protein and not tell them... But you didn't hear me say that!

Like what snowdogs said, if you have higher calorie days then you are switching things up and you are keeping your body guessing. If you consistently eat the same thing and continually eat say 1300 calories a day, your body will get used to that and quit losing. I sometimes have a day where I will get in 1200 calories and then the next day I will eat 1800 calories.

If you are only getting 1000 calories in, and you have been on the program for over 2 weeks and you are still hungry, then you definitely need more food. All you are doing to yourself is throwing yourself into starvation mode and you aren't going to lose. If you are not eating the lites, then make sure you add a 1/2 protein and a starch to your day to make up for them.

You know, way back when I started this diet and I was POP every single second of every single day, (yes, for many months I was quite perfect) if I would have a tiny cheat like share a slice of pie with my kids or something, I would always have a big loss. Heavier days in mod are a good plan.

Default My 2 Cents

Ladies:

Please allow me to provide my 2 cents / experience that worked for me. I started LAWL on on 5/18/07 on a 6 weeks program. I have lost a total of 16 pounds and 7.75 inches in 4 weeks. The TO plan didn't do much for me so I modified it to do what I knew to work. For the 2 days I ate ONLY meat. Cooked the right way - No Pork - approximate portion sizes as the plan allows - and not over doing it. By doing this I lost 2 pounds per day. I don't recommend going over two days as your body needs the nutrition from the other food groups. I also took a fiber supplement during these 2 days to help with the lack of it in the meat. If you can only do it for one day, then you should at least see some movement on the scales. Hope this helps.

Did you use the juice too and just no veggies? Or was it just meat and water?

Congrats on your losses, and welcome!

sorry i couldn't respond last night - i had 2 very sick dogs

well the cod i spoke w/is one that i had problems with before - i told her that i felt as if i wasn't getting enough calories and that a good portion of my calories were coming from carbs (because of the lites!) and that i needed more protein to offset the carb intake. so she says, well have you tried the drinks? they have fewer calories - goodness this woman NEVER listens. thankfully the manager overheard and said that since i only lost .4lbs w/TO and my overall weightloss has not been very good she was going to send my food diary to the dietician to see what can be done.

i know my body very well - i have pcos and i know that i need a high fiber/low carb (healthy, good carbs only) diet. before i signed up for the diet i explained this to them and i was assured that my diet would be customized specifically for me - yeah right!

anyway, i should hear something from the dietician by friday...in the meantime, i'm going to follow every ones recommendations and eat more than 1000 calories today by adding extra lean protein.

THANK YOU all for your support and encouragement!!!!!

I only did meat and water. No other intake. I don't really know what the juice does, but boost your calorie intake level for the day and pad their pockets with $$$$$.

My TO plan (gold) only allowed 2 veggies, not unlimited. That would have been nice. It still didn't do much for me, so I cut them out and the juice.

i'm on gold as well but my cod said that it has changed to unlimited veggies it just hasn't been printed in the books. even given that, i really didn't have more than the 2 servings.

i'm going to follow your previous advice and just eat meat for those 2 days and cut out the juice, which i really don't care for much anyway.

Back in the day when LAWL had a very restricted food list we could have red meat only twice a week from the Limited food list. A counselor at the COD would have us cycle through: Chicken, Beef, Fish, Chicken, Beef, Fish, Turkey, etc. She encouraged us to use the limited foods which were 2x or 3x a week to keep the body guessing.
It did work for me, but when I got to 160 it took me about 4 months or so to get below 150 to 147. It was very slooooow. And TO off did nothing for me, ever. I'd gain 2-3lbs the minute I went back on regular plan. Then if we stopped losing, she would have us do something similar to what Debbie367 posted for a few days which also included eliminating the 4oz(!!) of dairy allowed on Gold.

I would say make the COD work for you, that's what you're paying for. I had a very good counselor/manager when I was a client who really worked with us - and while she could have pushed the supplements the only thing she really encouraged us to use was the EFAs. Unfortunately, she passed away two years ago and our center has never been the same since.

I will look through some papers I saved to see if I can find any of her tips and will post them.

Good luck with the 8WM!

Please let me know if this works for you. I know how it is to be POP and not see the scale move at all.
