    HAPPY NEW YEAR LADIES

Angie, Reba, Rylee and I had a quiet New Year's Eve. My brother and sister in law were going to come over but she was sick. We had a nice chicken stew/soup that Angie made, her mom made it for me, a few weeks ago, when I stopped by from an out of town job. Very tasty and easy, if anyone wants the recipe let me know. We had a glass (ok I had 2) of a very fine $5.99 (OK it was on sale, usually $7.99) of Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon California 2003, then we watched a couple of "UGLY BETTY'S" and four "MY BOYS" that we had dvr'd. We were in bed at 10!! Just flat out party animals!!

My son came by for a couple of hours on Saturday night while his wife went to visit her folks. He was on his way to watch the UFC fights with his buddies. Had dinner with us, Angie made a nice salad with chicken and chipotle ranch dressing and tortilla chips.

It was an easy day after church yesterday. We went grocery shopping and when we got home my daughter was here. We had a nice visit with her, she had picked up the bridesmaid dresses, so her and Angie were checking those out. We worked on trying to get the wording just right for the wedding invitations and went over some of the details of the wedding. She and her fiance were heading up to Los Angeles to hang out with friends for New Years Eve. They were making their own dinner and staying home to play Loaded Questions.

Son and his wife headed out to a time share in Palm Springs for the next week ~ then the Honey n will be over! He has a time share he bought from his grandparents several years ago...way cheap! They got it when time shares first came out. He usually uses it for Hawaii but Nicole has family in Palm Springs so they are usung it out there this year. He called twice yesterday to talk football...gonna here from him today during the ROSEBOWL game I'm sure.

Lara went with her boyfriend to his college, Humboldt, for a week, then will fly back here for a week or so before going back to school in New York. Nephew spent the week-end with his mom, came back here for 5 minutes last night then off to a friend's house to spend New Years Eve "hangin' out".

AUNT SUE~Glad to hear you are safe from the storm! Sounds like you will be spending a lot of time with your doctor soon, hope he is cute I hope you have a great trip....it is gonna be a great day for the start of it....the 6th will be the 11th anniversary for Angie and me.

Well, it is 7am here, better finish my and get some work done before the games start. Have a great day with your families.

I may start a new thread later today...if not I will soon okie-dokie?

2007 IS GONNA BE WAY COOL FOR EVEYONE!
  • Happy New Year!!

We had a very quiet new year's eve. We woke up to a foot of snow everywhere. Church was cancelled! DS and DH spent 3 hours shovelling! Other than that we relaxed, watched a couple movies, etc. Just like you Gary we were in bed by 11:00. Party animals we are!!!

This morning I made waffles with fruit sauce. I also have cinnamon bun dough rising. It's nice to have an extra day to get some things done that I don't get to very often. After that it's relax again!!

I have a busy week ahead of me and then a week holidays. We are planning to reno our bathroom and I'm excited about that! We are painting, replacing hardware and flooring. Also, a new countertop if we can find one that fits. It'll be chocolate brown and soft teal.

Gary: Enjoy your "football day". I am so glad you're a part of our thread. Keep things interesting around here. Even though I'm almost at my goal weight I still need this thread and the support it gives me. Happy New year to you and Angie!!!

Sue: Wow! You're going to be busy just with appointments. I am praying that everything goes well for you with them. Enjoy your holiday. Make sure you post when you get back! We'll miss you!

Rachel: A plateau at Christmas is a good thing!! I'm sure I gained a couple but starting today it's back on track - eating healthy and exercising.

Where in Canada were you? I live in Manitoba!

I just want to wish everyone the best in 2007. God bless you!

  • Hey Everybody . . .
Good to see all the 'regulars' still here. . .

EZ - your recipies always sound so good and sounds like you always have a houseful at mealtime (wonder if that's a coincidence?) What happened to your 49ers this year??? On the other hand, what happened to my Bears this year??? I think they're Super Bowl bound, just don't know if they can do it with Grossman as Q-back, but then again maybe this week off is just what he needs to get ready. Who do you think will make it to 'the dance"? Oh, if I didn't tell you before, I did love all the pics of the wedding & fam, and Angie is looking just as great as ever!!! Tell her I did hear the new (& final) Potter book is coming out June 6th! And HAPPY ANNIVERSARY you two!!! Tomorrow is also my Dad's 76th birthday!! Small family (if you call 23 family member small?) get together thing, cake, ice cream, you know the routine.

Wilma - Loved the snow on your van!!! We've barely had ANY cold weather, suppose to be 30s in the days, is 60s today, possibly 70, may break the record. Have had NO SNOW and very little frost. I have tulips and daffodils trying to come up. I did see a single flower on my forsythia bush (wierd huh?) when I was putting out C'mas lights in early December, I'm wondering if my flowers/trees will know when to come out in the spring if this warm weather keeps up???? Oh, yes, we did make it to NYC, we had two 'action packed' days, a lot of fun and the shows are terrific and it's 'a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there'!!! Too many people!!! Didn't matter if it was morning, noon or night, the streets were always busy, not crowded particularly, but busy! A couple of the restaurants we went to also the waiters were rude, didn't like that either, which of course reflected in their tip!

Sue - have a great time off, I guess you're leaving in the morning, don't know if you'll be on here before then but we'll be praying for you, fun and safe travels!

Rachel - Where are you????? You used to be here regularly but now haven't seen you around for a few days. . . please come back. . .we miss you posts!

Chronicallyfatigued - WELCOME. Come back and tell us something about you and let's get to know each other.

Well, I pick up DD here in 15 minutes, we're hitting the mall, have to find a homecoming dress, yes my baby's 1st homecoming dance and with a date!!! Not an 'official' kind-of-date I guess, since they're going with each other as 'friends' since neither have anyone else to go with but both want to go. I have also been informed there is a difference between a Prom Dress and a Homecoming Dress - duh, sorry but Mom didn't know that! And by the way we will also need to buy shoes too. (Did I hear somebody say 'take the plastic with you?')

Hugs & prayers and hope everyone has a great weekend - Margie
  • I posted once here before, but have been MIA for a while. I lost my girlfriend when she was hit by a car walking across the street on Dec 08, 2006, so I haven't felt like writing. My cell (bible study group) has been a great support. I need to get back into the healthy eating and excercise though. I have been emotional eating and have gained the pounds I lost. With God, I can try again and know that he is there to cheer me on.
I live in Windsor, Ontario Canada and we haven't had any snow yet. Christmas was so mild. It hardly felt like December. There were days we were wearing spring jackets. The tags are still on my sons new winter boots.
I'll try to make a point to get here more often to keep you up to date.
    Here is a quick background:
