  • Riestrella - CONGRATS!! Finishing a race is such an amazing feeling and you should be so proud!! I remember all the encouragement of race volunteers during my first 5K....everyone was cheering us on, telling us we looked strong, you're almost there, etc. It felt soooo good during the race to get all those extra pushes along the way.

So much to do around the homestead today, so no time for lots of personals, but I have been reading along and following everyone's updates. I hope those of you with injuries/illness are feeling better quickly! To everyone achieving goals/pledges - WTG!!
  • lost 0.8 / pledge 1.0 / trekked 17.6 miles

  • WooHoo, Riestrella! That's fantastic. Finishing a 10K is a great accomplishment. What I'd feel most proud of is that you thought about stopping, but DIDN'T. You may not have been the first to cross the finish line, but I bet you'd win top prize for perseverance! Many, many, many congratulations.

And congrats to all of the losers. It's sometimes tough to keep at it through vacations, illness, heartbreak, etc. But, that's what life is and if you wait for the "perfect" time to lose, you'll always be heavy. Channeling all the negative feelings and energy in life into some kick-butt workouts can be very productive!

My 5K is 5 weeks away; I'm thinking I'd better step up my training a bit. I know I can finish it at this point, but I haven't really given any thought to how fast I can run it . . . something to work towards over the next 5 weeks.

Thanks for the recipe suggestions. My repertoire has expanded a bit. That pork was yummmy!

Hope all those feeling under the weather are back on their feet soon.

  • Great progress so far ladies, myself not so spectacular lately, just means i have to try harder and continue to press forward.

Riestrella : You totally pulled some emotions from in me with your inspirational efforts, way to go girl, nothing greater than defeating ones personal demons, very proud of you.

MadameB : You could for sure do it, your tenacity is well known around here. I also went on a late bike ride in the dark with the full moon last night, just over 25K, i agree no wind or hot sun really can help one push extra hard, felt good when i got home.

Will weigh in later but have no grandiose expectations, still i tryed on a pair of shorts that are a small 34 and last time they were a little tight yet, now they seem to be just about perfect, although i wouldn't want to eat a ton and then wear them.... LOL.

Had a pretty good day yesterday, well the last half i really found some energy, anyways even cleaned the house totally as well as a long bike ride and a walk plus my light weights.

    Have a good day everyone.
  • Pledged - 2
    Lost - 2

    Trekked - 10
    Minutes - 355

I hate weekends.. Just saying, I could lose more if my den/work out area wasn't dominated by children on the weekends!
  • Reso: I have tenacity??? REALLY???

    AND

    RESO MADE A JOKE

    too funny,

  • Rainbow - Way to go! So happy to see your success!

    Rated - Great weight loss!

Please know that all of you guys are so inspirational - not quitting the race, moonlight bike rides, sticking to the plan day after day, finding new ways to eat better or work new muscles, clearing hurdles that stopped you before. Just standing up, taking that first step, can so affect our brains. Motion begets motion. Positive begets positive. It is fascinating that we can change our whole mindset in a moment. Kudos!
  • Yay!!! I made goal this week. I needed 3 lbs to have lost 40 lbs and did it!!!

    I am a big LOSER

  • Ries! That medal is too COOL...I love it!!! Congratulations on completing the 10K, I would be thrilled to have your time.

Diyana - Hope you are feeling even better today.

KittyKat - WooooHoooo! Congratulations on winning the race to lost 15.

MadamB - Way to keep focused on your goals. Reso and you are inspiring me. I think I should add to my bucket list moon lit biking. First I will have to learn how to use gears on a bike! Everytime I have tried I end up with my chain falling off...the dang hills around here are always getting in my way.

I am seriously impressed with all the weight lost this week! Congratulations to all the losers. My 6 wks with steady losses has been ended. There is no reason for it, I stayed on plan and jogged my 5 scheluded jogs...plus a little extra walking.

I finished an 11 mile jog on a trail today. It was so pretty! There was even a train tunnel to go through. At mile 7 it was pouring, and I was smiling and loving it! It reminded me of being a kid and playing in the rain. I am a little bit sore, but I am confident I will be able to finish my 1/2 marathon. I think standing serving drinks for 7 hours last night then doing the jog is why I am sore...I am getting pumped up for the 1/2 marathon.
  • Munchey here, reporting actuals for 8-7-11 thru 8-13-11:
