  • It's Friday morning and weigh in time again and my scale says 189.6 That's -0.7lb from last Friday, it's good but not great so I'm planning a little Friday, Saturday, Sunday challenge for myself to work out lots and drink lots of water too, and maybe next week will show a bigger loss. Yesterday I bought really nice dark blue gym pants so I have to take them out for a spin

    I don't know what's going on, but in the past few days I've lost like 4 lbs. I'm not complaining I'm just curious to see if this sticks. Maybe my theory about WW making me plateau was right...Hmm...

  • Well I only lost 0.6 this week, but that's better than nothing!!

    Stella - Congrats! I'd love to hear your theory bc I'm on WW and I feel like everytime I lose a good amount, it seems like it takes a few weeks to get a good loss again! I feel like I plateau every few weeks.
  • That's awesome you guys are pushing yourselves so hard! I'M IN!! I want to be at least 180 by the time New Years comes to town.. I'm gonna work my butt off! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!
  • lulu- I love fitTV too, especially on the weekend and I don't feel like doing the elliptical I'll just turn on the tv and do whatever it is.

    The scale wasn't lying to me yesterday! I saw the number I couldn't believe yesterday again today so I'm changing my ticker and putting it down as fact.

    This means I'm only 2lbs away from half-way there. I've been working really hard these last few weeks.

  • Star - Yay! That's awesome I am feeling better today - despite my hangover I got up and did my C25k. Its supposed to snow here tonight, and I just wish it will hold off so I can go hiking tomorrow, but we'll see.

    Lulu - I did WW years ago - and I lost about 20 lbs but then it was so hard to get past like the 195 mark. This time I did it, and I've struggled with the past 10 lbs. I was losing steadily, then I got to 195 and it was a FIGHT to get any pounds to come off, even though I was sticking with my points and exercise. I think that WW only goes so far - it worked really well in the beginning and really helped me with portion size, etc, but for my body...it just doesn't take me far.

    One of my coworkers has her master's in exercise physiology (a really smart girl) and she was saying that there are theories that your body gets "used" to a certain weight so it has a set point. I was at 195 for a few years before I gained weight - so I feel like that was one of my body's "set points" and I needed to do "drastic measures" to push past it and reset. As of Monday, I started counting calories - I allow myself up to 1500 calories per day (based on fit day and what it takes for me to eat to not be hungry all the time) and like I said - I've lost 4 lbs since Monday and I'm exercising a normal (if not lower) amount. Maybe my body was just ready to give up the weight, and maybe I pushed past a set point, I'm not sure, but I'm not questioning it.

    However, I have noticed that with the calorie counting, its a) harder to cheat based on points - like I can't just say I'll eat high fiber food and it will be fine b) I can actually eat more, and I'm more satisfied and less likely to be grumpy or freak out and attack the m&ms in our admin's office.

    Sorry that was really long, and its not based on fact, just my observances.

  • Yay! It seems like everyone is having a good week this week!

    My surprise from yesterday maintained--I'm weighing in at 165 this week. Down 3 lbs from last week! I don't remember what I weighed when I started this challenge, but it was shortly after I joined 3FC. I was 181 when I joined in late October.

    I am really excited. I hope to reach 157 by New Year's Eve, but 150-anything would be lovely.
  • stella- That's interesting info about the 'set point' you talked about... I've not heard of it before. Worth a thought at least. I'm wondering if there's a good way to get past every point or if you just have to shake it up in order to move on.... hmm

  • 184 today. I had tummy issues yesterday but I ate all my calories. I'm having oatmeal now and I feel better, but I can't go hiking because it's snowing!!
  • Hey, it's been a while. I was on a cruise.
    Luckily it didn't go terrible as it was a Thanksgiving Cruise.

  • I would love to lose 7 lbs by the new year. That's about 2.5 lbs a week from now! I think its do-able.
  • my goal is to be in onderland by new years. a year ago i couldn't even imagine being in the 100's now it seems so close. i'm extra motivated to shed that extra bit and start 2010 as someone who weighs under 200 (haven't been able to say that in 10 years)!

    stella- Snow? Awesome! I love it, but that's probably because I live in SoCal at the base of the mountains. So we get snow here, but nothing like snow plow deep or anything... Just enough to be pretty and really freezing!
