  • Welcome back schenectady

I was wondering if any of you ladies could help me out with a recipe/quantity adjustment. I have leftover 3 oz of steak and was going to do some type of steak and eggs for dinner tonight. The new sheet says a full serving of protein would be 6 eggs (2-4 whole eggs and remainder egg whites). If I do the calculations right it would be 3.75 eggs to substitute for the remaining protein. So 2 eggs and 2 egg whites should do it? Right?
  • Quote: I'm back! I have been gone a while and just did not fit this into my day for quite a while. Nothing drastic, just stress.

But I am back to 100%, drinking all that water and trying to remember all the bathrooms that I can find. Being older, I do not always have the luxury of waiting for those....

One change I have made, pretty much, is switching to as much seafood as I can since it is so available. I find I work better when I do that so I am enjoying new kinds of fish.
Hey, great to see you!! I am back 100% again as well. I can't even count how many times I tried to go back on plan over the summer but it was such a struggle. Finally something clicked and I'm in the zone again! I thankfully got rid of all my bigger clothes and have REFUSED to go buy anything bigger than my current wardrobe.. I think it helped me when I realized I was running out of things to wear! So although I did gain... it wasn't too bad and I'm still in normal people's clothes!

    Looking forward to your updates
  • Welcome back schenectady!

Reboot is still going very well - so glad I finally got back on the horse - yesterday I put on a skirt that I had bought on consignment, it was tagged as a size 12 but it's cut more like an 8/10 so I couldn't wear it. Tried it on yesterday morning, it's a bit snug but still wearable!

I did some nutritional calculations, you could either do 2 egg/2 white or 1 egg/3 white...what will change most is the total calories and the fat content.

3oz cooked steak (about 4 oz raw), plus 2 egg and 2 egg whites came out around 315 calories, 44g protein and 14g fat.

3 oz cooked steak, plus 1 egg and 3 egg whites totaled about 260 calories, 42g protein and 4g fat.
  • Thanks so much scorbett!!!!!!! I'll probably go with 1 egg and 3 egg whites based on those calculations.
  • Welcome back schenectady! Good to see you! I hear you on the seafood and right now it's cheaper than beef.

Hiker88 - love the new pic! And yeah for getting back at it before needing new clothes. I purposely got rid of my clothes when they became too large just so I wouldn't have anything to grow into.

scorbett1103 - I love the feeling of putting on clothes that I couldn't wear before. Yeah you!

kissi - I'm glad scorbett did the math for your question, the calculations were giving me a headache!
  • Thanks for your replies, Lisa and Ruth Ann. Lisa, I would love to hear your friend's opinion on the abdominal surgery...I appreciate you asking.
  • Good morning!

found this quote this morning (should probably google who it came from) but it made me smile:

"Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to."

With all the talk we do about determination, I just had to share!
  • I can't believe I started this program on June 12 and am almost at my goal weight. I love IP and I'm glad I've stuck with it 100%.

I look at your numbers and I feel that we have a lot in common. I absolutely love your quotes.

I would like to weight under 120 but I am going to start to phase out at the end of October. I am very afraid of gaining back. I have been 100% since Feb. 27,2014 and have lost every week.

My clinic calls me their poster child. I told them I just got my medicare card so I am not anyones child. The laughed and asked me to become a coach and I said yes. I am being a little selfish because being a coach will help me just as much as I will be helping others.

Awesome! It sounds like a great way to help yourself and others.

    Great job!!!!!!

I hear you on the fear of gaining back - that has been my biggest fear. But you can do it! I think we will always have to be mindful of what we are eating because it's so easy to slip back into old habits but surprisingly I have found that I much prefer to eat reasonable portions of food that really fuels my body rather than what I ate before. Not to say I don't enjoy my food or have my indulgences, but I feel so much better now and never want to lose that feeling.

I love your response to being a "poster child"! Sounds like you will make a great coach!
  • Thanks to all for the warm welcome back. It has been a challenging couple of months and yet I am happy that I did not slip in any BIG way. I am DETERMINED (thank you for that, Ruth Ann) that I will finish this out to the end. I think I just had some real diet fatigue I had to wrap my mind around.

My adored son's wedding is in a week. He is here now but I have not seen him as he is busy with wedding license, vendors, tux, etc. We will see him tomorrow very early to take him up to our new house, still under construction, as he has not seen it.

He is a bit hummed out as his two military groomsmen were both unable to get papers for leave, one two weeks ago and one just this week! They were all going to be in dress uniforms as well as our son, but now that is out. Our son will go with a tux, actually more comfortable, but I will miss the military look and pomp.

So I see him tomorrow for the first time in whenever. Will not even be thinking of food, but trying to get my water in, though.
  • bump. I need you guys!
  • I love the 100% club, can I join? I am only on day 8, but cheating is not an option for me, not even so much as a finger lick as I'm making a peanut butter sandwich for my little guy. I just figure I work so hard to get my body into the ketosis state, I don't want to do anything (even if it's tiny) to get it out of that state!

I've been doing well so far, but as I said it's only my 8th day. I am going to stick at it though, as tough as it's going to be especially through the holiday season!
