Hi Everybody!
Annie- I know you check in to read this sometimes, so I want you to know you are still a big part of this list. Good luck in your treatments and post a note whenever you feel up to it.
Cyan – Boy, you had a good exercise day! You’re right about fat free foods; it is a trial and error process. I eat a lot of low fat foods, but with some things I would rather have a small piece than the fake stuff, like eggs and cheddar cheese. I factor it into my total count then adjust what I eat for the rest of the day. I was so sorry to read about your horrible day. Neither you nor your mom should have had to endure that kind of frustration and lack of caring. I put this largely in the doc’s court. He (she) should have had a sedative on order and prepared the staff to your mother’s condition. In the future, when the doc tells you about these tests, try asking specifically what special orders he has written (sedative, etc) and what arrangement have been made relating to your mother’s condition and limitations. Make it clear you will not tolerate that kind of situation again. God bless you and give you strength.
Lisa –

Yes we still love you! I laughed out loud when I read you post, especially the I DON'T CARE part! How did you do on your test? Congrats on getting to the gym and staying on program!
Debee – Glad you are feeling better. Soup is a good idea; I read some where that people who eat soup once a day lose more weight than those that don’t. I have no idea if this is true or not, but soup is good food.

It sounds like you are discouraged about the amount of calories you burn when walking. Remember, exercise is not just about calories burned, it also keeps the metabolism up so you burn calories long after you stopped exercising.
Cjunk – That exercise gift was a funny story. You get a big Sympathy Hug for not being able to eat chocolate!

Wow, sometimes life just isn’t fair. Get back to that pool soon, ok?
Miki –Your kids super spellers. Congrats to Josh! You must be so proud! Hmm…Fat free pudding and air walker – Sounds like you’re back on track! Way to go, girl!
Reina – Glad you are feeling better too. Are you back on Fitday? Oh, and concerning your advice the other day when you said don’t fall prey to hot pretzels – Oh oh. Too late. It was covered with cinnamon and was wonderful! Weight watchers is an excellent program and it will work for you, but you must track what you eat carefully. When we make guesses, we usually guess way low for what the calories (or points) really are. Remember! You can do this! You WILL Succeed!
Me – Well, it’s Friday, and I have a day off to do whatever I want. The bike ride was great, but Cyan, I wear a helmet, so no wind blowing through my hair. But I did think about you when we crossed over the 5 mile long Tampa Bay Bridge. The beautiful blue ocean was sparkling on both sides and it was spectacular.
After nearly three months of deciding, we bought a new car! Several years ago I drove a little sport car. I loved that car and drove it for 8 years until it was totaled in an accident. Then we bought the minivan, and it was ok, but I never felt comfortable in it. Well, the minivan started to have problems, so we traded it in for a Hyundai SanteFe – a mini SUV. I absolutely love it! It’s smaller than the van, handles beautifully and fits me perfectly. I am a Happy Camper.
I was able to buy size 10 pants this week! Also, my leather pants that I wear on the bike are huge around the waist. I promised myself a new pair when I make my goal weight. Yes, Ladies, I wear leather pants and a leather jacket when I ride. Who says little old lady grandmothers have to be stodgy?
I’ve been too lazy to run outside but I ran on the tread mill or did Taebo 5 times this week. My calories are getting better and I seem to have settled into a pattern where I am losing a pound a week and a bit of inches.
This Weeks Measurements:
Weight: 142 - Down 1 lb and 1 inch from last week.
I lost ½ inch on my hips and ½ inch on my right thigh.
I averaged 1238 cal and 30 gm of fat per day.
I pigged out two days, and if I can avoid doing that again I think I will lose more next week. But still, I am happy that I am losing steadily.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Lady
