I am sitting here waiting from my brother to pick me up and take me to breakfast. We do this as a family about once a month or so. There are some good breakfast restaurants around here and today we are trying out a new one. No doubt the same sort of things will be on the menu as all the others, but this one is in a garden centre so we can look at plants while we wait for the food.
Not much to report here. I am about halfway through cutting down the hedge and I have tree bits all over the place. I am trying to get them into garden sacks for the man to pick up but it is hard work to chop them up into lengths that fit the garden sacks so it all takes time. My lettuces are growing big and I am giving them away so they don't go to seed before I get to eat them. One lettuce will give me 3 big meals. Tonight I might do a Caesar Salad with the one currently sitting in the fridge.
Susie - have a wonderful holiday. Hope you get your list of things to do, done (hope that makes sense). Don't forget to take photos and show us where you have been. Congratulations on that wonderful weight loss. You must be feeling so good about of it. I'm proud of the way you've stuck to it - it takes real guts and determination to lose that much weight. And no I haven't started on the bathroom yet. Lots of design planning, finance budgeting and demo to go before that is done yet. Got to find some one to do it as well. The DS2 is far to busy for a full scale upgrade on my bathroom
Laura - Those glasses sure take some getting used to. I believe my new pair are like that. I'm really not sure I want them but we will see. Nice that B/f got his braces off. I've never had them but I have heard they are somewhat painful at times.
Happy - good that you are going for a drive in the ATV. Hope no idiot comes around and wipes you out with mud and dust. So many idiots, so few brain cells between them. February March April are good times to be here. The temps are not so bad particularly March/ April. Around 25C or 26C. In April/ May it can get down to 23C which is still probably quite warm for you. Nights are cool but that makes it easier to sleep.
Annie - Great weight loss for you too. You and Susie must be the weight loss
for the year.Ceejay - Sounds like you are doing well with all your family around. Nice to have them close enough to be able to interact but not so close they live on your doorstep.
Okay so breakfast is done with the family. I had a stuffed omelette and boy was it filling. And I had orange juice and coffee. Nice. Hardly any of us could finish it all. I didn't eat the toast since I don't like white bread and it didn't have butter on it only margarine.
Now I will get out and cut down some more trees and fill some more bags with leaves, twigs and stumps. It seems never ending, but I will get there eventually.

It's also Farmer's Market Day so I will sneak out and take a full hour for lunch today and the people who sell the fresh shrimp from down in the Gulf are also making a trip up here so I will leave 15 minutes early to rush to the end of town to get in line for that. When you are working for free, you can make your own schedule
Saturday we went around and picked up a few plants - flowers and some veggies - sugar snap peas and spinach. DH went and cleaned out the garden for me. The strawberries have taken over one of my raised beds completely and I have about 100 strawberry blossoms so if DH can get a cover made for the bed, we will be enjoying some strawberries in a few weeks. I got a ton of laundry done and some cleaning. Made pasta salad yesterday and fresh fruit, corn on the cob and some brats I found in the freezer. We ate on the deck. Our air conditioner bit the dust and is not working. It was close to 90 degrees here Saturday and Sunday which for us is like living on the sun. TOO HOT. No Florida living for us. Especially without air conditioning. One of my childhood friends called me yesterday and we yakked on the phone for 3 hours about nothing. That's a friend
DH was putting out suet for the woodpecker who we suspect from his actions is feeding his new young chicks.
Get ready - make your plans to be gone when we show up
Be careful!!!
And putting them in bags to boot – what a hassle. When we have brush like that, it gets bundled with twine. == Are you feeling like a rabbit yet, eating all that salad??

I did take a break to stop at the farmers market - got some chicken thighs and a half chicken for soup, a couple of pork chops and 2 dozen eggs. Got a loaf of the multigrain bread I like from the Mennonite ladies as well as some rhubarb bars for DH that he probably won't like because they are not overly sweet. After work I stopped at the seafood truck and picked up 5 pounds of Gulf shrimp - smells just like the Gulf
Anyway it was a minimal trip charge and an easy fix so that's good.
I am not a beer drinker but I heard that stuff is awful. Are you going to continue playing the organ for the church? Did you find something to practice on? How nice that you are going back to Paragould again. Will be interesting to hear what you find different about it being away for several months now.
Have to hit that area with some weed killer before it turns into a jungle. So what did you do with all that rock you hauled (tired out just thinking of it, lol)? You’ve been doing a lot of work on your yard – we need to see some photos! == Arrival was the movie with Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner about the aliens visiting earth.
Sorry ... my mistake, didn't realize this. Gads, can you imagine how bloated you'd be after 9 beers?
