  • darius: I’m so sorry to hear about your wife. I’ve never participated in any bereavement forums, so I can’t offer any suggestions. When my brother passed away a few years ago, I did go online and there are some forums out there. I read a few posts, which was helpful, but I never joined up. Perhaps you might try doing that as a starting point.

    My scales gave me up this morning, which I could have done without…hopefully it will reverse soon!

  • So sorry for your loss, darius. That's a huge life-change to deal with on so many levels.

    I have similar experience to Tuscany. No current information, just a general sense that there is help out there.

    These days, my best support comes right here at 3FC -- in the Beck thread that uses Cognitive Behavioral Techniques for weight loss, and virtually anything else that comes up in life for the participants.

  • darius - I cannot imagine what you are going through... Please know that I will be praying for you. There is a support group called Grief Share. After my father died, I participated in one of the groups. I looked up the webpage and they do have a self study ... and there are groups that meet in Toyko. I'm not sure if you are really in Japan or not, but I looked while I was on the site. Here is the link http://www.griefshare.org/ ...     Just as I had resigned myself to not even getting back to where I started on May 1 (144.7) I suddenly had a whoosh this morning!!! Had to turn off and on my scales and do it 3 times to make sure it was correct as it's a big drop from a few days ago.

    If I get to my goal by Saturday, I will be happy. I can do this. I am going to stick to my plan, and I am going to go the gym for the rest of the week hopefully. I will make my goal for this week, maybe not for the month, butit is okay. I will weigh 189.4 lbs or less on Saturday morning. Time to buckle down and get serious.
