  • I had my first WI of 2009 this morning and was down 1 lb. I started week 5 of stabilization today, so I am only 2 weeks away from beginning maintenance
I hope to lose 1 more lb because I would love to sign the 100 lb board before I start maintenance.

It's hard to believe that I started MRC almost a year ago, Jan 15th

We are all cheering for you You can do it!!!
  • I think I may be experiencing my first plateau (sp?) According to my scales, I haven't lost since Monday. This is after averaging over 5lbs a week since I started. I had a weigh in on Monday and my next one is tomorrow morning. I am really trying not to get discouraged. I haven't done anything different this week, except maybe exercising a little bit more (c25k instead of wii fit, but still doing 30 minutes)I don't plan on going off plan if I don't lose. I am staying focused on my goal, but if anyone has an ideas for plateau busters, let me know!!!
  • Meemo--I read your info about plateau's on the advice for newbies thread. Thanks for that! It really helped me feel better!
  • I had been on a plateau too. Since I started the program I've had couple of days at a time where I don't lose any weight but then the next WI I've been down. Up until today, I've stayed the same since the day after Christmas. Today I lost 1.5 lbs so my plateau must be over (yeah!!).

Also had my Tanita and measurements done. My inches lost seem to be lagging way behind my pounds lost, in fact I lost nothing in my waist and hips and a couple other areas since mid-November. Don't get me wrong, I'm still quite happy with my progress and things are moving in the right direction but not sure how to bump up the inches lost. I've just added a Pilates DVD to my exercise routine. My goal is to do that 3 days a week with the bike/elliptical 2-3 times. Maybe that will help with inches lost.

They did the BMI scale and measurements. I am down 7 lbs and 10 inches. This is the first thing that has ever worked for me. I am soooooooooo Excited!!!!

That's truly awesome! This program really does work. It has completely changed my life! I am working on empowering myself to be the best I can be. Being healthy is soooo important. When you fuel yourself the right way, you want to fuel your mind healthfully too. I just signed up for a pottery class, which starts tonight. Everything seems to be going so well.

    Congrats again!
  • I had to share with you my daughter asked me last night what the ribbons hanging on the fridge were for and I explained to her that each time they measure us they give us a new ribbon with the total inches lost and so she took my last one down which was 49 3/4 and wrapped it almost around her waist twice and said look mom you've lost almost two of me! She thought that was soo cool!
Oh yeah my other NSV this week was we were at a swim meet on Tuesday and one of the boys walked behind me and spilled nacho cheese all the way down my really cute brand new white shirt! so I had to take it off and went to her swim bag to grab something and all she had was a med. t-shirt of course I was scared to death that it wouldn't fit but it did! Not even tight! Wow a year ago that would never have happened!

That is a great NSV! And congrats to "losing two of her"
  • Quote: You know there was a consultant at the Shalimar center who said they had a couple of clients who do just that, sign up for another year of maintenance year after year, just for that accountability and support factor. Cheaper than a new bigger wardrobe! (That's how I justified signing up again when they ran their special last summer - cheaper than a new wardrobe, and way less depressing!!!)
I couldn't do the resign because I had been gone for 3 1/2 years I never knew you could keep going forever. Yup, that works for me! We've been taking about moving in a few years as well, and opening a center wherever we move (probably Montana) is an idea we've been bouncing around.

I think exercising can make you hold water at first (muscles trying to rebuild themselves or something like that). When I started working out in December, the scale didn't move for two weeks, but now it's way down quicker than it would have normally been. Give it a couple of weeks and see if that happens for you, too.

I actually rather enjoy working out now. I never got the "runner's high" thing (I used to think it had to be that you were happy because it was over!) but I can see glimmers of satisfaction/enjoyment this time around. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I have a very hot personal trainer, either.
