  • Quote: OH MY GOSH ....HOW CUTE!!!! Little girls with curls.....How adorable!! I can only hope to have those someday.
I had curls when I was little... now they are just annoying waves
  • OK girls, I am gonna have to get creative today on how to get my exercise in I totally chickened out on riding my bike today because of rain (that's the first time I've driven to work in a month. So I'm thinking maybe its time to crack out one of my old yoga dvds. Haven't done those in a WHILE.
  • Angie - I like 700 and 704 Good luck with your decision
  • Quote: I had curls when I was little... now they are just annoying waves
I had lovely waves until Will was born and now my hair is non-descript.

One of the MANY things people don't tell you about having kids. It can change your hair.
  • Quote: Guess who showed up today! AF! Another month with no surprises. I always welcome her.
Whoohoo! After watching my nephew yesterday it confirmed that I am glad my tubes are tied.

Quote: Me & my friends are going out of town today.
Glad you found something to occupy yourself for a few days.

Quote: SO, I quit my job. I think in the fall when the kids go back to school and will look for something that is sitting down.
Welcome back to early retirement. I quit my part time job when the price of gas and daycare took every penny I made. I can't wait for the kids to start school. I don't think I will go to work but I will definitely be joining the gym. I like the lower right photo best. She looks really happy there.

Quote: Sorry Anna. It's awful I know. Lowest regular gasoline here is about 3.45. Same for you all?
    $3.99-4.00 last night at 10pm.
  • Hello all. Well, I did yoga today for the very first time in my life. It totally relaxed my body. I think I like it.
  • Quote: Yeah Karen, I go through this with DH and kids on occasion. They will not die if they don't have any "whatever" for awhile. I'm do not like having junk in the house that I may binge on in a moment of weakness. That more that the money is actually the concern for me. (the money would factor in if I were buying tons of processed foods, I'm sure) I know occasionally DH will buy himself a treat and keep it in his car and not even bring it into the house where it turns into a problem for me. I say let DBF buy something to eat with his money if he really needs to get it - but you stick to your plan/budget and don't be running out to buy him a special treat!
Nori, part of the situation is that he's basically supporting me financially at the moment, so part of our agreement is that i do ALL the shopping and most of the cleaning (like that's any different from before anyway!) treats being in the house are no problems for me - I just buy ice cream flavors I don't like and I won't eat them .. i've always been more of a starchy/carb snack addict anyhow. if i'm going to go off plan it's more than likely going to be a plateful of tater tots or a bowl of mashed potatoes. I DID end up getting him the ice cream since I was at the store anyway, but the selection was poor and the brands he liked were more expensive than I'm used to paying (6.29 for breyers all natural! it's not even a half gallon!) so he got a flavor he doesn't love in a brand he doesn't particularly care for. i bet it lasts longer than the last one i bought

in other news, i was total fail at running today. I don't know what it was but I think I psyched myself out. i only ran one of two 3 and 5 minute intervals. Im glad I at least stayed outside and walked and did other exercise (i did my yoga dvd twice!) It was week 4, day 2 of c25k and i'm thinking that while I may not repeat the whole week I am probably going to do it an extra day before I decide to graduate to the next week.
  • Quote: Dee - No steamies yet and I'm on page 320 Needless to say they sure are talking about the "tension" though!
Well if you want to quit reading after book 1 I will send you some LKH. Her first few aren't steamy, but I can get you up to speed and you can start on one of the ones that are rated NC-17.

    Isn't it fantastic?

For me, running was 70% psychological. It was getting over those humps that even when I had conquered them, I just could not do it again sometimes. I am still there.
  • faerie-I at first before een trying it thought it looked boring and wondered how it could be considered exercise but when I tried it today......wow.......I like it. It totally relaxes and stretches my muscles. I can see now how it is a form of exercise. You are using muscle and strength and you are moving your body just not in the way you're used to. Tomorrow morning is Latin Dance. DS3 is sick and DH usually sleeps till about 10 or so and the class starts at 830 so I think I'll try that one and see if I like it. I wanna do their cycling and step classes. Will try them this week. I am so excited.......

I totally psyched myself out today. I've been doing really well, getting out even when I don't really feel like it because i feel better for it afterward, not giving up even though mentally i felt like i couldn't make it - i know my body can handle it but today I was just a mess. I guess you can't be perfect every time - this is the first time in 4 weeks of doing c25k 3-5 times a week that I have stopped and walked during the majority of the time that I was supposed to be running.. other than today the only thing i've done that really let ME down was stopping short by 10 or 15 seconds during some of the longer intervals. I just mentally didn't want to do it - i don't completely know where my head was at, but I have some ideas.
I'll just have to go back out tomorrow. I can't rightly take a rest day when I didn't really run.
  • tkglenn..I have thought about trying yoga....but never have. I'm glad you liked it!
I finally was able to download the C25K podcasts onto my dd's MP3. Now I can concentrate on walking/jogging without having to keep checking my watch. That was getting annoying. And....it's raining today!!
I need to take it easy today anyway...I think I overdid it yesterday with cardio, golfing and biking....my legs are screaming at me!

Vicki is starting to grow on me despite the wane in "true romance" through out the books I've read.

I think I expected it to be hot and heavy like BDB but it turns out to be more like a mystery/suspence which is ok too.

Anna - When my friend was pregnant with her first child, her hair and nails grew like wildfire. It was also flat as paper

I'm having flashbacks to the Bikram yoga classes I've taken. The room is hotter than hades (typically heated to over 100 degrees) and I swear people fart more in that class than you would believe. I can't say I loved it....
