  • Mag sounds like a good idea YP, had to laugh at your hangover post though, sorry! None of us will ever learn .

I bought boots today. Nice ones too. The old ones are going in the bin tonight. The hole in them is impressive, can't believe I didn't notice it sooner!

Husband is going away on business Monday for a week so I'll have the house to myself, aaahhhh . I will miss him though I won't miss his mess!

Lovely day here today too although tomorrow rain is forecast. The yard sale my friend is having might not happen if so.
  • Hangovers had my fair share of them Why do we do it and then say never again?

Just got back from furniture shopping. I'm looking for an armchair and have seen some that I like. So may go back tomorrow and get one.

Chris I actually checked the points on the soup at Olive Garden, they are high as well.

I'm off to order pizza it's Friday night after all.Have a good night.
  • Hi Veggie

Lynne, nice to hear about new boots, I LOVE shoes My hubs calls me Imelda...bloody cheek, I don't have that many pairs! Enjoy your week without hubs next week, mine's away as well...he's told me I have him home for two straight weeks at Christmas...it'll be ok, I love him loads, and my Mum will be here

Helen, does the mag have an on line bit, so we can read your article for those of us who can't get it. Have a nice holiday. Hope you got your packing done.

CG, well done on the furniture shopping, what's the armchair like, and what about the puter desk? I hope you get something tomorrow.

I have been such a busy woman today, dave was busy washing the cars and got Hannah out to do hers as well, then he cleaned his and mine out on the inside...mine was not very clean...it's all spiffy and new like again now He's such a good boy. While they were outside, I hoovered all through, I hate these bloody floors in this house, carpet upstairs, carpet in the basement and wood flooring and tiles on the main floor, I use that many different implements to clean it's not even funny.

Got my washing out and dried.......wahoo for getting washing dry on the line in nov, in MA. And then Hannah followed me to base (she doesn't quite know the way yet) to get gas, it's very un-nerving t watch your 16 year old drive a vehicle behind you.... she's my baby... and she drives! Then we went to the huge (not really, I'm lying) BX and commissary to get a few bits and bobs.

I bought cranberry juice today as it's supposed to be very good for you, came home and poured some to have with dinner to find that it was grape juice...which Hannah had chosen, Dave laughed as I was waffling on about the benefits of cranberries as I poured, so when I took a gulp of grape juice and realised what it was, it amused him

RSG, I've had about two hangovers in my life, but I'm a wimp with drink, I have a glass of wine with friends and then make a cup of tea, then have another glass...and always finish off my night with a cuppa. I can get drunk very quickly though, especially on margarita's....and then I'm just plain stupid.

Ok, time to sit with hubs and watch Law and Order, our Friday night special together........... ahhhhhhhhhh.
  • Well I've had a gorgeous day today but the scales won't feel the benefit of them. My daughter took me and hubby out for lunch which was lovely and the 2 glasses of wine I drank with it made it all the nicer, we had a lovely time and a good chat. Then this evening I was out for an Italian meal with my friend as it was her birthday during the week, I was very good alcohol wise and only had a few glasses of wine and a nice amaretto at the end of the meal but I did go the whole hog on the food and had 3 courses and I've got to say it was worth every calorie, the food really was beautiful.

Now I've just got to be so very good until I get weighed on Thursday - was a lovely day though so I'll keep smiling

Lynne I know what you mean about hubby going away - I love mine to bits but I really do enjoy the odd occasion when he's away
  • Now, call me thick... but am I missing the November weigh in thread? Or isn't there one?
Hmmm... anyways, so i'll say it here! This week I lost 4lb... last week I stayed the same, the week before was 2lb I think... I have now lost 53lb. And I am 19st 4 and a half lb. YIPPEE! *Yes, I am shouting there, what of it? ... i'm happy!*
  • Hi Homersmummy

Not sure about the November weigh in thread, I haven't posted in one of those. Well done on your losses for the month, you've done brilliantly and keep on shouting, I would if I'd lost 53lb
  • Well done HM.. I don't think anyone thought to put a Nov weigh in as most of us signed up for the drop a dress size by Christmas challenge and Sarah is making a weekly weigh in thread for that.

and a big loud WELL DONE ON THAT FOUR POUND LOSS THIS WEEK Super duper woman. you are doing brilliantly

Katie, sounds like a perfect day to me, good food and good company, glad you enjoyed it.
  • Right, I'm finally all packed and ready to go. I'm just watching the first half of GB v New Zealand then I'll go for the bus at half time and watch the rest on the radio. I'm feeling a bit more alive today which is good. I can't wait to meet my mum's kitten and my sister's puppy, I've seen pictures and they look sooo cute. I like baby animals

I've packed my running stuff (first thing in the case!) so hopefully I'll get out and do my 3 mile circuit along the seafront a couple of times while I'm away.
  • Quote: .... and watch the rest on the radio....
  • Just an update on Rosie: She brought her new owners over to come and meet Ellie last night. Rosie is now known as Holly and she is doing really, really well - she's had five baths (to get rid of her little visitors) and has gone almost sparkly white and all the fur on her nose has grown back. The vet said that she's not to be walked for a few weeks and she's to have seven or eight mini meals a day of rice and chicken breast together with vitamin and calcium supplements. She's gained an inch and a half around her waist and eight pounds so far. She's completely unrecognisable as the filthy skin and bone dog that DH found last Sunday morning - but she hasn't lost her good nature along with the dirt she still has the waggiest tail I've ever seen.
  • HELLO EVERYONE. im back
nice to see everyone is doing well with diet and life..
i was in london, enjoying gallery seeing, and all things art. Saw 10 gallerys in 3 days and went to camden market and bought lots of lovely jewelry.
My diet has been RUBBISH, but i have walked about 9 miels a day at least, somtimes alot more, ruinning from soho to the otherside of london....madness.
but im so glad to be home, some awfull tragic things happened on the trip, lots of girls arguing, and people falling out, and everyone was getting fustrated. Also some big german guy had a go at me in the middle of the night for walking past his door. scary..... i complained to a security guard who shouted back at him for me.
i miss my boyf big time too, but i got home last night and the flat was clean, and he seemed happy, and thats alll that matters.
anyway, im eating veg all day for the next 4 days to shift the horrible clugged up feeliung inside me, and water and maybe weetabix lol, but after that i will see what the damage has done. oh a question, how much weight/water can you hold during TOM?
  • Hello everyone

Do not faint but I have no hangover. I wasn't really in the mood for drink
but had one of those evening with the girlies where you just chatting and laughing and remembering old times and not so old times too.

I came home and had a bit of french bread with lurkpak on and I also had a packet of mcoys whilst I was out as I felt so hungry. I stupidly didn't eat before I went out.

It's lovely to hear Holly/Rose is doing so well.

Your time in London sounded great Toys. My friends and I are going to the Tate Britain next month to see a David Hockney exhibition and will mooch about and have a meal and stuff. We are only 20 minutes away from London so its handy.

I don't know how much weight you hold during a period but personally I'd say I surely carry about an extra 3 to 4 lbs. I never ever noticed this when I was big.

Not sure what I am doing today house stuff and possibly head to the gym later. Tomorrow going to my little brother's for dinner.

    Take good care

    Michele
  • Hommersmummy - I meant to say a very big well done to you xxxxxxxxxx
  • Freethetoys - I used to go gain up to half a stone during the week before TOM - up a whole dress size. I had PCOS and only had TOM about every six months so the weight gain was the only way I knew it was on its way.

Michele - glad you had a lovely evening. Baguette with Lurpak - yum!

Well - I'm just back from a very long walk. Some people really make me wonder for their sanity. There I am, struggling along with a giant size Great Dane with a haltie on because she's useless on a lead, plus two other big black labradors - and this total idiot with a 4 month old chocolate labrador puppy brought it over to me to get it to 'socialise' with Ellie. I didn't know how Ellie would reacted so I just stood completely still - luckily she just bounced up and down on the spot. He's lucky he's got a puppy left - I could have had that haltie on her because she was a puppy eater! Boy, I ticked him off good. Grrrrrrrrrr!

I'd forgotten how much it takes it out of you walking a dog on a lead all the time (the boys usually just walk alongside me) - I'm exhausted now and my back is killing me - I think I might go and have a nap ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz
  • if youd dont mind me asking what is PCOS, i have lazy ovaries i think, and they gave up on me when i had a big ovarian cist a year ago....
