  • Welcome themilesawaygirl and High Heels!!

Wendee, I saw your post with your 6 week update. You're doing awesome girl. I can see your fierce abs! I'm so jealous, haha! I plan on weighing in around the first of June to see where I stack up. Hopefully my numbers will be going down.
  • Welcome, High Heels!

    How are you doing today?

    How's everyone else?
  • I have about fifty more pounds to lose. I just joined here because I thought it'd be a nice place to be for support. My cousin is a gym instructor and she gave me her one free membership and it has helped me so much. I started at 235 and had actually reached 189. Getting out of the 200s was a big thing for me but when I got out of the 190s I was happy. I'm disappointed to be back in the 200s but I'm not going to stop!

    Hello everyone.
  • Hi Everyone, gee I've been away for a few days and cant believe all the new people who have joined while I was gone!

The first thing I did was check if my ticker's available yet... still none...

Weight is not moving from the time I put on 2 lbs.....havent had a lot of time to exercise this week tho and my eatings been all over the place. Have been trying to stick to my fruit juice smoothie for breakfast, turkey sandwiches for lunch and poached eggs for dinner but not so lucky this week. Have been craving sugar like crazy....dont know whats going on or whether its emotional or hormones whatever.......

Will try to get back to walking each day this week and going back to regular eating schedule and we'll see what happens.......maybe when I get my ticker and watch it go downwards i might feel more motivated.

Glad to hear everyone else here is doing OK.....

Fresno, it wont be long before you are in the 150's and will be giving me a run for my money......I'd better get a move on

WendeeLou.....hope everything is OK at home for you as well.....you sound much happier

Fluffyfashionista.....I had a look at the Turbofire thing....wow that is major workout...I'm tempted but I think I'll start with Turbo jam thanks and work my way up slowly.........got tired just watching the girls on the video

All the best to everyone over the coming week.....hope lots of pounds are lost between all of us
  • Good morning, ladies!

Well, the good news is...I packed the scale for the move, so I am literally unable to weigh in for a couple of weeks, lol. Just kidding. (Kind of.) I just hope I might sneak into the 150's by then. Boy, they're not kidding: the more you lose, the harder it gets to keep losing!

I'll be packing/moving more stuff today, and mowing both lawns tomorrow after work. That's always a good workout. I might try to jog again too this week. Have not been to the gym in a while though. Can't wait to get settled into the new place and figure out my new routine.

For breakfast, I had Fiber One with soy and bananas.
Last night, I was a little naughty and had pizza. It was vegan though, and I didn't eat much of the crust, which my dog happily helped me with, lol

Celine, good to see you back!
    Welcome to Hum!

    Hope everyone is doing well!!

I think that's a very good idea. Actually, I did Turbo Jam a few years ago. A lot of Turbo Fire routines use Turbo Jam moves. I think it'll make Turbo Fire A LOT easier for you. It'll reduce the learning curve.
  • Hi all, and thanks for the welcomes

As Fresno suggested, I'll tell you a little more about my weight loss plans / hopes etc - I think my biggest problem is actually starting! I started a 20-week plan 8 weeks ago, but have had no self control and regularly have 'non diet' days because I make excuses. So I'm determined that the beginning of week 9 (today!) is a real change for the better.

I'm trying to stick to a simple healthy diet, lowering my calories / fat intake. I keep a food diary and total up everything I've eaten / drunk each day. I've formatted it so if the total goes over my target it goes red. Hopefully this week I can keep all the numbers black!

I've also been upping my exercise - doing a mix of cardio, swimming, weights and toning, about 4 times a week, so hoping the effects of this will show soon.

Wendee - I have a dance dvd that I really enjoy doing at home, but I've seen adverts for the P90X and it looks impossible! Is it really hard? I've tried a couple that are so hard I give up straight away, the one I use now is achievable so maybe that's why I find it much easier to stick to.

High Heels - I totally feel your struggle. I too have moments of motivation and great plans which tend to fade all too quickly, am hoping that checking in here will keep me on track too. Good luck to you!

Celine - I would like to get a ticker at some point - do you know what I need to do to get one of these? Why is yours not available yet? Hope you get one soon! Sorry I'm fairly inept at understanding the technical side of forums...

Hope everyone else is well, thanks again for welcoming me!!
  • Morning!

Its Monday again! And after a BEAUTIFUL weekend (around 80-85 degrees) The rain came out today. Its cold, and VERY VERY wet. I am hoping that my veggies dont get over watered!

This weekend, I did okay with eating. I didnt track yesterday, so hopfully I still did okay. I worked out Sunday instead of Saturday because I was busy running errands all day Saturday, couple that with the heat, and I was toast by like 5pm.

My workout was good yesterday, I planned to be there for abour 45 mins to get some cardio in, but once I got there and "drank the koolaid"- I ended up being there for two hours. I ran 3.5 miles, and did a little of each of the workouts my trainer and I did last week.

    I feel pretty good today!

Celiene- Everything at home is actually going a lot better! I am hoping that things stay this way and that we can work through our problems. As of now- one day at a time.

Fresno- I wish I could stay away from my scale. One day its good the next- not so much! Oh well, I am trying to really only rely on the numbers at my weigh ins. The scale is addicting.

Themilesawaygirl- I dont think P90X is that hard of a workout now, but had I tried it early in my journey, I probably would have burned it. haha! Its good that you have something that works for you! Its important to not feel overwhelemed. ONce you get the hang of this dvd, you will want something a little harder! good to have you here!
  • Hi everyone, I'm a newbie around here, actually this is my very first post, but this thread title caught my eye!!

I roughly have 30-40 pounds to loose, I'm on some kind of ''illegal'' weight watchers. I just started 10 days ago and I thought finding support would help me to stick to the diet!

    So hello everyone!

P.S. Just so you know, I'm a girly Mammoth (that could have thought more than 3 seconds before entering her idiotic nickname :P)
  • Hi all, I have 30 lbs to lose. I'm just starting out so any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm very motivated to get stronger and healthier!

Hope we all have a great week!
  • Wendee: Two hours? That's amazing! I'm usually there for an hour to an hour and 15 mins. I would love to go for two hours and I'm envious you can! Sometimes I look at the clock and am like.. Wow, only did this for 20 mins. I'm not big on the treadmill, it's hard for me to like it. I usually just walk though, I'm not a good runner. Do you run?

themilesawaygirl: You mentioned you have an awesome dance DVD, do you mind sharing the name of it? I want a dance DVD but with so many of them out there it's hard to tell which ones are the good ones.

TurboMammoth: Welcome! What's illegal Weight Watchers? Lol. I was a on Jenny Craig 4 or so years ago, and it was nice having the food delivered to your house so you didn't need to worry about shopping for the "right" foods. But.. That grew to be waaaayy expensive for my tiny budget.

Hum: Welcome!! Having a free gym pass is great!
  • Thanx for the welcome, Sammybee

Now, Illegal weight watchers.. Heheh! Actually, I'm a Master degree college student and I have a pretty thight budget. I really wanted to joined WW but I totally can't afford the cost So I manage to find the WW booklet on ebay and someone I know explained everything to me... So I'm basically on the WW routine, I just don't pay. That also mean that I don't have the WW mentor support and stuff though

That's why I was looking for a forum or something like that I'm glad I found it!

I prefer to say it now, english isn't my first langage, I'm actully french canadian. I might say weird things once in a while, my english isn't alway perfect
  • Yay!!!! Got my ticker.......now i just have to figure out how to move the dial
  • Milesawaygirl....re ticker..you have to post at least 20 times within 20 days to get a ticker.....just click on your username which will take you to CP tab (Control Panel tab) and then use edit signature....:-))

Now..... I hope my ticker appear this time
  • SammyBee - I know the feeling - I'd like to buy something new but you never know what's any good!

The dance DVD I have is called "Dance it off with Vicky Binns." She's in Corontation Street which I've never watched, but I like the moves - it's hard enough to make me really work up a sweat but easy enough that I don't fall on the floor in agony half way through! Are you in the States? I'm not sure anyone will have heard of her over there!

Celine567 - Thanks for the ticker info - I set one up on another site but guess I'll just have to be patient on here for a while so I can add it!

TXGirl487 - Welcome, I'm just starting out too and need all the help for motivation I can get - we can do this!

TurboMammoth - Good going on saving a few bucks - I'm always reluctant to shell out my hard earned money just for someone else to weigh me! I think a bit part of the meetings is the support and accountability of weighing in - something you can get lots of here! Good luck to you (and I love your nickname by the way!)

    Happy Tuesday all
