  • Gary - our teachers get to wear jeans on Fridays too. But our Central Office staff never does. Only when school is closed do we "dress down" a bit.

Rosebud - sounds like you are at peace with your tooth decision. I'm betting it will work out fine for you.

A quiet day here. DH is working. My Mom and DS1 called to wish me a happy b'day

DH and I will go out after work. He will still be on call so we can't travel far, but our favorite coffee and wine bar has free dessert on your birthday, so I'm betting we will go there. They have a cheesecake that is calling my name

Gotta get some laundry done, so I gotta fly.

Hope you all have a fun-filled Halloween.

    Blessings!

    Laurie
  • WELL HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOOTER!
  • Easy to miss your birthday since it isn't listed at the bottom of the community page SCOOTER!

I hope you have a great one!

Angie is at bell choir practice...we had a wonderful walk this morning to Starbucks. Took off about 6:30 under sweatshirt weather and got back at 8:15 under a very warm sun...absolutely gorgeous start to the day.

We will be at church tonight in our pirate gear...I will take a few pictures...providing I remember to bring the camera! Should be fun but I am missing a big USC game on TV...hope to get home to see them "WIN" late fourth quarter....hope...hope!

I will try and get back later gals...

    HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
  • Wow ... it must be Halloween night -- people are scarce on this thread and other places! We have all our stuff up and ready; and DH already stole some chippies on the kids befor they've even arrived. We had a terrific storm last night; so I had to go rescue my friendly bonhomme and tie up my pumpkin man for the night. The weather is finally settling down a bit; hope it stays that way for the evening for the kiddies' sakes ...

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

DH is now snoozing on the sofa waiting for the kiddies to arrive. I have never seen anyone else able to lay down and within seconds be snoring! I told him to stay like that and he'll scare the kiddies for sure. When we lived in the country, the kiddies started arriving at 5 pm, but I don't know if that will be the same here or not. We used to always wait until dark as that was more fun for us.

Here's a link to some pictures of our Halloween Decos that we put on our front porch for the kiddies, if you'd like to take a peek at them too ...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LAURIE!

Another October baby; I am too. When I was in grade school, in one of my classes, almost half the class had been born in October (and at least a few were born on October 31st; you are not alone); we thought that was strange. Our teacher surmised that it was the long, cold Canadian winters that caused this, esp between New Year's and Valentine's Day -- about nine months later, lots of October babies ...

Hope you all have a good one people! ROSEBUD
  • WELL HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TOO ROSEBUD!

Love the pics...will take some tonight and get into this show and tell thing!

just took some of Angie's pumpkins....CARVING her pumpkins...wink
  • Thanks Gary and Rosebud!
Yeah, I had my B-day and age hidden. I forgot I set it up that way in the beginning. I was pretty shy when I first started coming around here - of course that has changed

    Rosebud - LOVE the pictures!

We are scrooges this year. I closed up the house and we went out for a birthday celebration instead. DS2 is out of town visiting with friends.

Our dog is old and cranky and I don't trust him around all of the trick-or-treaters. I hate to lock him up because he cries the whole time. Thus, we decided to break from tradition and have a night on the town instead of handing out candy.

I must say, I didn't miss it as much as I thought I would.

Gary - can't wait to see the pictures!

    Blessings!

    Laurie
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURIE AND ROSEBUD!!! Loved looking at your pictures Rosebud. We've always lived out in the mountains and never have had trick or treaters. I talked to me neighbor here and he said they usually get about 50------ we had 7!!! Still have the light on but haven't heard from anyone in the last hour. We have our porch light on but didn't do any decorating--just didn't think about it.. Maybe next year.
  • Will somebody MOVE us to November...

    I'm not gonna do it...wink
  • I posted some pictures of Angie and I from HALLOWEEN at church last night in the GENERAL CHATTER thread ~ Brought Home The THROPHY WENCH...
