I'm still hard at it with the landscaping, preparing garden spots for vegetables, and installing drip irrigation. Fortunately we'll have a few relatively cool (80's vs 90's) days this week.

I had six identical weekly weigh-ins, then finally lost 1/2 pound, then ate way too much yesterday. Back on track today but I think I have a carb hangover

DH spent the weekend doing stuff other than watching TV and is only up one lb. He was so surprised! I keep telling him TV, boredom, and eating are all linked but he didn't believe it until now. Glad he's finally seen the connection.

I got rid of my last Easter bunny last weekend - gave it to the food bank - and am happy with my fruit and yogurt for dessert in the evenings again.

JayEl - that is so awesome about you reading the poem!

I am up about ten pounds over my low point from November 1st. I made it through Christmas hovering right around it, didn't pop back up until March and April. Sigh. I have got to get me food back under control. Seriously. My exercise is still pretty darn on point, but food.... Food is off the freaking chain. And my birthday is coming up this month. I feel squishy, I've blown back up some GI issues I had back under control, my clothes are uncomfortable. I have completely lost control over my diet, and am somewhat despairing of getting it back on track.

Yeah, I hear you Shannon. It's still hard after all these years to wrap my head around "maintenance for life". You do have the exercise on point so that's good.

I'm sulking . And eating sugar at night. It's still freakishly cold, wet, and nasty here - like November rather than spring. I'm tired of it.

My pants/ shorts don't fit and I'm still trying to decide whether it's extra weight or muscle. I'm leaning towards (mostly) muscle (though my weight is higher than it was a year ago), which is good. However, it still leaves me with no pants/ shorts so I will need to go shopping and get a new size. Sigh....

I've seen your Fb photos Michele - it's definitely muscle! You weigh more but it's healthy gain!

I got a new scale and it shows all sorts of metrics-- you never know how accurate these things are but it tells things like visceral and sub-q fat, muscle mass, body fat, etc. and my numbers all look good. It shows my sub-q fat is a little lower than normal, but I *think* that's a good thing??

Today is my LAST day with classes..... I'm so ready! We have 20 more days with students and then I work a few days after school ends, but I can see the light. Hubby has been gone for 2 weeks and will be gone until NEXT Saturday, and I'm tired...just tired...

I have a day to myself today. I'm going to try not to use too much of the time doing chores! I often lock myself up that way, which is weird because I hate household chores.

I have a scale that shows body fat percentage and hydration (or something like that). But I never bother with those anymore. I know what the body fat percentage reading will tell me.

I'm battling a cold or allergies or both....

Three weeks of dh being gone and I'm just over it....

I'm here. Busy, hectic, blah blah. Trying to get cleaning and stuff done on the mornings this week, in anticipation of a lot of driving for Mother's Day weekend.

I'm doing okay this week so far. I am STARVING right now, though.

My birthday is next week and I was planning on taking some time off, but now I have a WC hearing, other drama. I'm going to move my off days up to the next week I think, and I really want to take the time off and do NOTHING. No cleaning, do an hour headspace, maybe exercise because I like it, but not mow the lawn or anything. I'm REALLY bad at that. Last Christmas I took time off as my vacation wouldn't roll over and ended up cleaning and houseworking the entire four days. I was solo on it, as DH had taken the week before with our stepson at the house, and I couldn't take that week because of a work project. So yeah, I want time off that is actually idle off. I'm already trying to figure out how to get everything done around it, so I don't force myself to work.

Me and hubby just did that at Easter, Shannon, we took a week off and 'holidayed at home'. We drew up a list of activities we fancied, and places we wanted to eat out etc. One day only was for 'jobs' the rest was for fun, and it was great!

I've been working in South Africa since then, and am still here for another week. The food thing is a bit of a disaster really, but i'm getting to the hotel gym every morning and alternating between cardio and weights sessions. I even took up running, a little bit, which I've not done for about 10 years, and for the last 18months I've not been able to even run across the road because of my dodgy knee. Anyway i'm trying to ease myself in gently again with the treadmill and did 1km the first time 5 days ago, then 1km again 2 days later, then 2x1km with a few min walk between today. Figured out I should probably just stick to the bike+rower+uphill walking for the next cardio the day after tomorrow, but after that will then do 2x1km again, and finally 1km+1x2km before I leave. Hope that's ramping up sensibly (would love feedback if anyone has an opinion on that - have felt fine on what I've done so far - the breathing/fitness side is easy but it's kind of impossible to know how much my knee's going to take hence I was hoping to sort of ramp up beginners-style!)

Have't a clue what I weigh meanwhile as it's been weeks since I saw the scales, but the jeans are a bit snug..... Work to be done on the food side when I get home.

Yep, busy. I'm trying to take advantage of what's left of the spring weather to continue my garden and landscaping projects. Nothing much exciting but that's how I like it

Busy here too. DH's work has suddenly ramped up again so I'm taking on more housework. The garden needs work and I'm pretty booked up at work too. Plus I have a couple of side projects - one Coursera MOOC and my cannabis experiment. And it's still cold here. Took my hiking boots off yesterday and wore shoes - which was great - but back to the boots today.

Where are you working in S. Africa?!
We lived in Johannesburg for 2.5 years. We loved it but it was so UNSAFE that we are hesitant to go back for a visit. We lived there mid 2003-late 2005. Loved the food there!
Glad you're able to run some. I'd say just listen to your body and don't push it too much.
