Trish, I googled that doctor in the first link and bookmarked a lot of sites. I will read through them later. It does sound like she's selling something, but Dr Fung is a practicing physician and has a program to sell, but he offers free info also, so making a living is not always wrong. I am not real big on supplements though, and prefer to use yogurt to get my probiotics.
The other website looks good too, since it is not all vegetarian, but makes some favorite recipes healthier. My problem is making full recipes, because DH will not eat them.
Fit For Life. I googled that book and the cover looks familiar, like I might have read it at one time. You know me and books. LOL I'm not a fruit lover. I can eat a small piece, like half a banana or orange, but I could never make a meal of it. It would not feel like a meal for me. It's great for you, since I know you enjoy fruit. DH likes fruit, too, and can eat a big plate of fruit and call it dinner. Somewhere I read that if you eat fruit, eat it in the morning. I don't remember why.
I think I am settling in with IE, low carb style. My problem are blood sugar and portions, so this takes care of both. This morning I ate 2 pancakes that were left over from DH's pancakes last night, and had a fried egg in between them. It was very tasty and I feel good that they weren't wasted. I tend to treat myself to something after weigh-in day, and hope that it doesn't continue for days like it did last time and cause a gain. I want those 2 pancakes to be my carbs for the day and not eat again until I feel hungry. Force down a couple bottles of water.
DH is in a grouchy mood because I wouldn't go to the casino this weekend, so he's being difficult to live with. I hope he gets over it. I don't always get what I want, either.

I've been going the same problems myself. So I know how you feel. I'm dealing with a 94 yr old Daddy who fell last Wednesday and thank God didn't break anything and all tests came out that he is fine. He is just sore and he isn't used to not being able to jump right back to doing what he needs to do. I don't remember my Daddy ever missing a day of work for illness although he said he did one time and he went to work when he was 13 yrs old.
