Quilter - Our weather did not last long, though it is very humid and warm, it is so very wet and grey!!!!! Ughhh!!!! Poured down on me as I left Super Target making me a contender for the wet t-shirt contest - and from the looks of the women around the doors waiting on cars when I drove up and got out to load my car - well I was quite the winner

Sol - I agree with Monet - get some sf russell stovers they will do the trick and are most enjoyable!!! hahahaha

Bob - as soon as I get a shot of my new do I will post it I really like it - so very easy to care for.... I watched Pauline and Paulette, a Belgium film last night, and it was totally endearing, touched my heart!!!!

I have to get going now, hello to those I have missed... I just took a break from my cleaning - took me an hour, but there is not one single living germ in my biggest bathroom! I used CLR - Yellow Bathroom and Kitchen cleaner, CLR - Grey bottle for the lime and rust in toilet, tub and then I bleached and sprayed every surface - I am proud to share my bathroom with whomever needs to stop for a pit stop - hahahaha - now on to laundry and bedrooms...ughhhhhh!!!!! Good day for it though - wet out.

TRANQUIL: Gosh, if you clean like that, you sure put the pressure on me! Its gonna take me months to get Spa Monet clean! Rainstorms like that my mother in law calls 'lighter knot floaters'. If I have no place to go, I don't mind them. Something so refreshing about playing in the rain!

I have been having a busy week “nesting”. I seem to be finding dust around that I just
have to take care of right away! I think it is nervous energy. Since my broken collar
bone won’t allow me to do some of it, I have involved my DH. He is not at all excited
about my nesting. HA! DD will be here tomorrow afternoon and we have a little
shopping to do and then we will all go out to dinner. I am looking forward to Carraba’s.
Last Thursday I went for my mammogram. They suggested a “soft exam” where they
put foam on the bottom plate. They told me that there was no difference in the quality
of the xray. Anyway, it was easier. Does anyone know about this technique?

Gatorgal: I hope you had a nice weekend and a great birthday.

BOB: I thought Survivor was good this last Thursday but at first the women didn’t look
like they would even make it to the challenge. Even my husband was pulling for them
to win. I went to a movie rental place to sign up for future use and just came home with
a movie called LadyHawke. It is an old movie but I remember it was good. They
wanted $6 to buy it and that seemed like a good deal.

Quilter: Good for you with the exercise. And great news about the “zero” busting! My
DD will get on the board to let everyone know how the surgery went or she will call
Debbie and she will fill you in. Thank you for your well wishes. The surgery will be late
on Tuesday, so, it will be Wednesday morning before any news, probably. I agree with
what you said about Survivor. I absolutely could not believe they used their drinking
water to boil their undies!

Deb: Oh, yes, I do remember the fine falafel sandwiches we had. I have some pita
bread and tahini sauce and that will make a great meal.

Melf: The spelt sesame stick are good news and bad news. I must control myself
when eating them. I think salty carbs must be my downfall. I was so sorry to hear
about your fall. That sounded like a really nasty one. I hope someone just pampers you
until you are much better.

Solshine: I am so happy to hear that everything went well with your surgery. You also
sound like you are in good spirits and on the road to recovery. Vince must be taking
very good care of you. Did he clean out the kitchen while you were unaware? I will be
glad when my ordeal is over starting with the surgery. My surgery is not until 4 p.m.
and I am a little worried about the doctor starting work on me so late. There weren’t
going to be any early appointments for a long time so, I am just hoping that he is use to
these hours. I don’t have artificial nails but will keep in mind that I will need to go to the
clear polish or just get them buffed if that is what is necessary. Oh, I understand that
prunes are legal and they could very well be your friend at this time.

Tranquil: Pictures, please. You looked cute when I last saw you, so, if you think the
new do is even better, we must see it. Are you a Survivor fan also?

JRed: I was so happy to see your post. We just must find some time between your
busy life and my recovery to see each other. We are so close, yet so far away.....

Miata: Thank you for asking about my surgery. Last Oct. I was in a head on auto
accident and my collar bone was broken. Since the break was so bad, it never mended
and now I have to have surgery to have a plate etc done. I haven’t been able to do that
much with my arm and I am ready to get past this, as you can well imagine. Tell us
more about the quilt retreat. Will you break into groups or have individual projects?

Monet - the pressure is not on - this is a once in every few months kind of thing I have been so sick these past few months and everything went to pot! DS is still coughing and hacking and so in order to keep the germs away I took everyone's advice, windows open, and house is bleached and cleaned - hehehehe - it is nice though, I keep admiring my handywork wishing I had someone else to do it for me!!!

Yellow - I love nesting when it hits! I will make sure to post a picture and thanks for the compliment! I have never heard of that soft padding procedure for the Mamogram - I will be having one done soon as it is that time of year again. I just hope my insurance does not try to make me go to the yuchy place - I like going to the mamo place in the hospital where they give you pink gowns and treat you so pleasantly!!

My stew smells really good - it is cooking in the crockpot:

chopped up chicken breasts
frozen baby lima beans
frozen green beans
frozen brocolli
chopped onion
mushrooms
one large can of diced tomatoes
can of progresso onion soup
and tobasco sauce

cooking it for at least 4-5 hours in the crockpot - my sb legal version of Brunswick Stew, sort of....

It looks very pretty....perfect for DS with his cough and sinuses - and perfect for the rainy wet day....

Girls, here's a quickie greeting. I will respond to all of you tomorrow. We painted again all day today. I got all the bookcases primed and ready to go for tomorrow. We are beat. My upper arms got a real workout today.

JACKK---It's been so cold and gross here today. First sleet and then snow. Not much snow, but they still say we can get more by tomorrow noon. Hope you all are warm. And hope DD got back to Lex safely. I've been thinking about her all afternoon.

I just got off the phone with DEB. She sends her best greetings to you all. Michael has been on the computer practically 24 hours a day lately. So she has had no time to post. I assured her once again that we were still talking a lot and posting and helping each other out. But that we did miss her. She says the new boards will be up tomorrow morning.

I must have missed something- agape, how was your cath? Was it freezing in the lab? Boogie's had a couple and I hate the cath lab- unfortunately, he will have them throughout his life to keep an eye on things.

BOB- How were the movies this weekend?

Well guys- I did it again- totally been off plan(and pigging out) since Friday- it all started with the giant box of chocolates hubby brought home. I'm probably back to 210 again,ugh. I'm thinking about doing a 10 day detox. I haven't done one in over a year. The last time I did one, I lost 8 or 9 pounds- but it tests your willpower. I think I need to do it to see the scale and inches drop to give me a boost of motivation- plus, I could use a good cleansing out,lol.--- Thanks for all the compliments and well wishes for Boogie. I love him sooooo much- he's so cute and adorable. He's brought so much joy into my life- I would do it all over again without thinking twice.--- The weather here has been unpredictable(that's Mississippi for you). yesterday it was in the upper 70's and then a cold front came thru with bad weather(tornadoes) and today it was in the 40's or 50's- heck, I forget. Last week the high was in the 30s one day- and in a couple of days, it will be back in the 60's to 70 range again. Gee, wonder if that's why everyone's sick now?

I've been MIA for a week or more, I know. I have had some problems with the 'puter. It was out of commission for several days and then right after it was "fixed" it went down again. It is alright now, but I have just converted to a new operating system and I have a ton of things to learn about this new look and new way of handling information. I spend almost all day just trying to figure out the address book, mail system, etc. I still have a ton of questions for my MAC guru, but hopefully I'll be back flying along on this machine soon.

Last week was almost a perfect week. I would love to have saved it in a bottle to be able to take it out and enjoy it again every so often. We went to Gainesville for 2 days--say a play there, went to a basketball game, had dinner at the prezzie's home, and stayed with a good friend. Then, my DH actually gave me a really nice VDay gift and card. With my birthday the next day, I usually get just my birthday gifts, but not both! But my DH was a romantic this year, and it was a really nice day. We even went to another play, "The Rock and the Rabbi." MELF, you would have loved it! And you too, GRACIOUS.
My 2 kids came over for my BD and cooked a really gourmet meal. It was a hoot. My DH and DS played in a father-son golf tournament during the day, and by the time the kids got all set up to cook it was already 7 pm. We ate after 9pm. But they did really well with baked chicken with herbs stuffed under the skin, roasted winter vegetables (rutabaga, parsnips, carrots, fennel, etc), bitter greens salad with goat cheese croutons, and key lime pie for dessert. Obviously, I "cheated", but to enjoy the meal they had prepared was much more important to me.

Jack-K--So, we have the same birthdays? That's neat. I hope you had a wonderful day.

Fillise--I do understand what you mean about your feelings about Val. Day. I have felt the same way about Mothers' Day. Somehow, it is a "set up" that often causes feelings to be hurt. We have expectations for that day that often can't be met. And there are many women who would love to be mothers that aren't, and, of course, they are doubly reminded of it on that day. I was there for about 7 years until we adopted our son. I hope you made it through the day with your heart intact.

Well, I'm gonna go. I still have a ton of addresses to enter into my address book and my favorites. That will take me some time and it is 10:30. Hope you all have a good week.

Hello!!! Miata here..Just wanted to tell I still haven't had a cupcake..in fact If I go into the kitchen I bet I will find them gone..My dh is not good with junk food around..I took 14 to Sunday school and weridly enought we had 14 kids.. Ia m glad I had enough for every one..

Biker breakfast was great...I really like these people. There are only 10 in the group. Most have wives and it is so nice to meet and talk with new people. We all laught at or biker husbands. I did eat my potatoes when I said I wasn't...They were crispy..Most times you get hashed P..and they are all soggy and hardly even brown..This time they were perfect so i ate them.Opps..I did drink my 64 oz water so that is good. I am expecting some kind of weight loss this week.

Yellow Rose: I am so excited the quilt retreat is finally here. A lady who has a quilt shop has organized it for about 10 years..This will be my 4th winter retreat. We will go to a nice hotel on the coast and we will set up our machines in a big conference room..Some one is taking care of the food. There will be snacks available all day long..I will bring fruit and triscuts to snack on but I am going to try not to snack at all..You don't waste too much energy sitting infront of a sewing machine. We all bring all our own projects..I will bring too many as usual but it is what I like to do. One year I only brought my dd wedding quilt to do and even though it was some what done, it was very tedioius and not much fun. I like bring all my ufo which means un finnished objects. I am going to make my dh a Wild Goose Chase out of red/black,the motorcycle colors. I will do up some easy tumbling blocks, Road to Tennesee, and maybe a few others...I am also going to learn how to put in perfect binding..I don't like the way I do it so My goal will be to learn..I am lucky, there are lots of quilting teachers there and as long as I bring chocolate, they will help me!!! I am going to try to go for walks while there, but Isay that every year..My problem is that I don't want too!!! I just don't usually get to sew for more then an hour or two at a time...At home there is always something that has to be done, and then I have my dh who want to go to Walmart casue he has been cooped up all week, and when i can veg in my quilt room, he wants to go shopping. Yuck!! unless it is a fabric store.!!! When I go to this quilt reateat, we will be sewing for 3 days straight, and will only take time out for sleeping if we want too. It is just so awesome..and all for 250.. 3 night in a hotel, food, and a place to quilt..Yep, I like it...

Well my stomach is grawling sO I am going to see what I can find that is op...bye for now andhave a good Monday...!!!
