  • I spent most of the morning at the eye docs for a routine exam which went well {except for all the waiting...} However, the Dr wants me to go back and see my cataract surgeon, there's a membrane that holds the fluid away from the lens, so they can't take it out when they replaced my lens, but it has gotten cloudy and is affecting my vision so I will have to have it fixed. They apparently punch a hole in it with a laser, and its a routine procedure, happening more often than not. Planned on a different cardio than Leslie, but since everything is blurry. and probably will be for the rest of the day, I guess she is my safest bet.

Chrily, are you interested in weights or cardio? Both?
  • Wow, PP, hope they can get your eye fixed for you and soon!

Not much going on here today. I took it easy last night and will do my cleaning at home tonight. I did go ahead and bake a cake for our potluck at work tomorrow. I'm keeping it in the fridge until then. My upper back is doing better. I have no idea what caused it to flare up.

With the 4th of July food and our vacation starting July 9, I am really worried about gaining. I plan to be reasonable and still have on-plan foods, but it just worries me. I am hoping to be able to stick to my commitment to walk on vacation. We will be doing lots of walking while there but I want to get up early some mornings and walk around the resort, too.

No special plans here for the 4th, but the boys will be with me over the weekend. Was hoping to cookout but unsure if I can with our burn ban in effect. I need to call my city office and see if they can tell me.

What does everyone else have planned for the 4th??
  • Annie- Have a great weekend, I have nothing going on except for going to see the fireworks display at 9pm. That's ok, my mind will be at ease from temptations.

Walked 52min & ate well. Yesterday I ate way too much, not even hungry today yet!
  • I did 5 miles with Leslie today. Hubby did the last mile with me! I was very impressed with him for agreeing to workout with me.

I keep track of my workouts each day; DVD title, length/time and then at the end of the year add it all up to see what I've done, what I'm not using, and if I need to purge/buy something, LOL. Jan- June I did 112 workouts, which breaks down to 60 cardio {walking, kbox, TM workouts}, 44 strength {mostly weights, some yoga and pilates}, and 16 weights/cardio circuits.

No exciting plans for the 4th.
  • Hey all! A quick note before I get too busy here.

Weird morning.....I had trouble getting out of bed AND my dog is acting odd. She was following my around everywhere and then she threw up so not sure what is wrong with her. Hoping she is back to herself when I get home. So only got to do a 2 mile walk this morning.

We have our potluck here at work today. I brought lemon cake and we are having hot dogs, etc. I'm going to do my best not to overdo on the calories.

    Have a good day everyone!
  • been a little slow at posting the last 6 days or so. Was off for 4 of them. Ate too much for a few days and then am back on track. Seems the story of my life but i refuse to give up. I felt so intensly fatiged over my 4 days off i did nothing but rest and sleep. Got some bloodwork done as i expereince this every few months or so but nothing like the level it was this weekend. I am hoping it is hormones so I have some reason for it.

Annie - your post made me want a hot dog. They did sell a low fat version here till last year, it was one of the popular brands and I really liked them alot so am missing them this year. Hope your dog is okay.

PP - sorry to hear about your eyes, hope the surgery goes well for you.

I do have to say i miss the July 4 in the U.S . The years I lived there during the 4th were awesome. I never saw some many fireworks from homes in my life it was a new experience for me. It would sound like popcorn going off outside there were so many. I also spent one year on our boat watching the firesworks, and missing all the traffic. It was great. We have stuff here for July 1 canada day but the U.S takes it to another level.
  • Hey Ashley!!! Come join us in the July thread!
