The purpose of this short TAKE OFF phase is to assist your body in reaching the optimum chemical balance so that, when the next phase of your program begins, you will lose weight in the fastest, safest and most enjoyable way as possible. Changing food composition intake signals the body to burning storage fat as the body’s major source of energy. This immediate change to rapid fat metabolism promotes quick weight loss, improves energy, and minimizes hunger.
During this phase of your program:
YOU MUST HAVE
UNLIMITED AMOUNTS OF THE FOLLOWING FOODS:
Proteins:
Meats – (can be consumes with skin – but no breading)
Beef, Chicken, Fish, Lamb, Liver, Shellfish (fresh), Tuna (fresh or canned-packed in water only) and Veal
Vegetables
All the raw green salad vegetables listed on your shopping list
In addition to the above you will need to eat:
2 oranges per day – 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.
FRUIT JUICE
MAY NOT BE SUBSTITUTED (if citrus sensitive, substitute 1/8 cantaloupe per orange)
You may use butter, margarine or oil in preparing your foods. Use oil and vinegar or lite salad dressings on your salads.
YOU MAY HAVE LIMITED AMOUNTS OF THE FOLLOWING FOODS:- 1/4 tsp. of Morton’s Light Salt per day (this is a must for potassium)
- Up to 3 packets per day of artificial sweetener
- Up to 24 oz. of diet soda
- Sodium Free Club Soda or Seltzer Water
- Up to 4 cups of caffeinated coffee or tea and 4 cups of decaf coffee or tea
- Hot fresh lemon water (this acts as a natural diuretic to relieve a full or blotted feeling)
- Any seasoning may be used to enhance the flavor of food as long as it contains no sugar or salt
- 8 – 8 oz. Glasses of water MUST BE CONSUMED DAILY (Perrier, seltzer water or mineral water may be substituted). Space water as follows: 24 oz. AM to noon, 24 oz. – Noon to 6 PM, 16 oz – 6 PM to bedtime
- Absolutely no other foods are permitted during this phase, no peas, bread, pasta, milk, cheese, or condiments (mayonnaise, relish or ketchup). Additional foods will be introduced in the next phase of your program.
