  • ALBA!!! Are you serious? That's fantasic news!!!! HOW EXCITED ARE YOU??????????? Do you have any details on the little one? How old, what color are her eyes? I am so happy for you! I say today ~~~ EAT what you want. Tomorrow - get back on track, I am sure being a mom is strenous and getting the weight off is going to be good for you and the sweet girl! AHHHHHH!!! I am so excited for you!!!! Best of luck!

FLADY - I am sorry your so blue today. How's it going with the MIL? She stayin off your back? Maybe that's why it's achin'!! HA HA HA HA !!! I crack myself up! Seriously though - I hope you get to feelin' better. Back pain can be rough. I have a buldging disc and when it goes to aching - I'm miserable. How are the meds working? GROUP HUG FOR YOU!!!

Irish! What's new with you? The steak I planned to take to work the other day was TERRIBLE at dinner so I didnt take it. we have a showtime rotisserie grill and I sware on my life we cook EVERYTHING in it. I dont know what I would do without it. We decided to try cooking the steak in it. BAD IDEA! It turned out terrible. So I ended up at the pizza buffet at lunch. I told you preparation was my whole problem.

Do you think there is such a thing as low carb, low fat, low cal? I think another big problem that I have is that I want to loose all this weight in 1 day. I didnt gain it all in one day, so why am I killing myself to loose it all in one day? In all honesty, this is what I'd love to try. Limit my carb/calorie intake. Carbs in the morning and for lunch. That dosent mean that I will have pancakes with syrup, but an egg mcmuffin (homemade) or tuna fish sandwich for lunch with carrot sticks or cucumber slices instead of chips. Or how about plain oatmeal with splenda for sweetning? For dinner I would not have any carbs only meat and veges. Sweets would come from fresh fruit or sugar free jello...ETC.....am I making any sense? Anyhelp and or suggestions would be helpful.

IRISH - you made mention of tomatos and motzarella chesse? How do you make that?

You girls are the best!! Hope your having a healthy day.
  • Yes Amanda, I'm serious!!! I have not jet any details, because I didn't jet see the official documents (they'd be coming in the next few days); the only things I know are that she is 6 months old, and she was born in Vietnam ( )...
    I feel !

I noticed today that my only two post here were absolutely "about me"... I'm sorry for this! I promise that I will do my best in the next days (I hope to have some spare time while preparing to travel...!) to get to know all you better and read the old post; now I want just thank you all for this buddy group!
  • ALBA How so totally wonderful for you! YEAH!!!!!

I'm sure you will be very busy getting ready for your new child! Enjoy this time!

  • Amanda Have you looked into the South Beach Diet? That is probably the closest to low carb, low fat, low cal that you are going to find. Low carb, low fat is not usually recommended but the South Beach diet focuses on good fats. I was feeling bad about the fact that I eat about 40% of fat per day when I am following my plan well...I did a lot of research and found several sources that felt that moderate fat---roughly 30-50 % is actually thought to be better for people with PCOS and IR. The big thing is to keep saturated fat at 10% or less.

Tomato and mozzerella salad is also known as Caprese Salad. I make a version of this usually with grape tomatoes and bar mozzerella cheese. I use balsamic vinegar/olive oil or a balsamic vinegrette dressing. Sometimes I add cucumbers or onions. I also season with an italian seasoning blend. I have had it the traditional way with fresh mozzerella and it is wonderful. It is kind of a throw together what you have to your own taste kind of recipe. HTH.

FLADY Glad that you are feeling better!

Selena, Always, Angela Hope that you are doing well
  • Alba - Please keep us updated on the arrival of the little one. Do you have a name picked out for her? I'm so excited for you!!!

Irish - that salad sounds KICK A#@...i cant wait to try it. I have heard of the south beach, but I am so not wanting to get on a labled diet again. Know that I mean? I hope that didnt sound rude I was just wondering if anyone thought that I was completely crazy for trying something like I am wanting to try. I have got to make this a lifestyle change. FOREVER!!!
I just dont know. Sometimes I wonder if I am sabotaging (sp) myself because my not loosing the weight means we arent "ACTIVELY" TTC, that way I wont be heart broken if we cant get pregnant. I THINK I NEED A SHRINK!!! IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE!!! SIGH!!!

Where are the rest of the girls?

    FLady- how goes it?

Hope everyone is doing FANTASTIC!!! Talk with you soon
  • Hi Ladies
    Hi Ladies.

Amanda - Yes for now, anyways, mil is stayin' "off my back". I hope it stays that way. My back is better now, but I think i'm not getting a cold....yippee.

Today was one of those days that I should have just stayed in bed........Ever had one of those days? Today was mine for sure. Just wasn't my day.......

alba !!!! I hope everybody else is doing great!
  • FLADY I hope that your day gets better!

Amanda I love tomatoes and anyway that I can work them in my day is yummy! I understand about not wanting to be on a labeled diet. SBD uses the Glycemic index to choose the foods to eat. I think it is a solid plan but following an organized plan is not for everyone. Personally I love watermelon and corn. I have limited both for awhile now but I miss having watermelon in the summer so I decided that I am just going to be careful and watch how I react to both foods. If they are a problem then I will go back to limiting them, if not then heck...I am going to enjoy them in season! I hope you are having a healthy day!

    ------------------

I turned down ice cream last night. DH got up to get some and I knew that was what he was doing before he even said it so I asked him NOT to bring me any but to grab a nectarine instead. He was a bit shocked I think but ummm... he had a brain fart or something and brought me an avocado instead.

I didn't get any exercise in yesterday but this morning instead of parking right by my appointment I parked about 6 blocks away. So besides that I don't know what I will get into today. Our backyard is an absolute jungle. We can't keep up with it these days...stupid southern exposure

    Everyone have a wonderful day!
  • My Night (mini vent enclosed)
Hi ladies. Well tonight has been one really weird night! I got my first obsence phone call at WORK! (work in a callcenter) It was very shocking to say the least! I hit the emergency button we have that records calls like that. Boy oh boy...........

Then when we first got here, I got some news about our shifts being changed. Particularly mine. I currently work Thurs - Sun. 6 PM - 4 AM. They want to switch me to Fri - Sun working DAYS. Okay you say, SO........But they want to move my husband (we work at the same place) to the opposite of my shift. Working the same days, Fri - Sun but NIGHTS. Okay again you may say, it stinks, but so? Well there is about 8 other people BESIDES me they could choose from, why selectively pick ME? Also I may add me and one other guy, who works on my nights off, are the only two who work nights. When we work, we are the only ones working on our team. So why pull me off and leave a lapse in coverage to fill another? Makes no sense. I can see fulfilling a business need, but to just pick someone selectively is wrong. Unless they volunteer for the job. Also there is at least 3 people UNDER me! (seniority wise)

Also I was told (not by my boss but by my boss's "sidekick") that if I refuse the "new" shift then I will lose my job! I don't understand that when there is 8 other people to choose from!

I think its ultimately because they want to split us up. (at work). We cause no trouble, we do our work, we're professional at work, etc. So I don't understand why. Also the people who don't want us working together don't even work with us, so why do they even care? We work on different teams and hub isn't my boss or anything like that because that isn't allowed here. My manager hired me in knowing who I was and that I wanted to work the same shift as my husband, so I don't understand. That manager is now gone....(got a promotion).

Anywho that is my night.................so far...............
  • FLADY Ugh! That does not make any sense. Sounds like maybe someone decided that they don't want a married couple working at the same place at the same time, even if you don't work on the same team. Cutting your hours and moving you around sounds like a tactic to see how hard they can push. Maybe you can talk to your boss and find out why they did it...not talk to the sidekick.

Hope that you have a better weekend.
  • My "Boss"
Our "boss" doesn't make the decisions, her "Side kick" does. She asks him EVERYTHING so that is why this is happening, because HE wants it too. And her boss pretty much doesn't care about us. He got us pretty much "dumped" on his "doorstep" after our boss left for his promotion out of the country. He already is a manager of a HUGE team and has no time for us.

BUT if push comes to shove I will fight it and will talk to both my boss and her boss together.

It is such a pain the behind.
  • FLADY Yes work issues are always a pain.
    ----------------------------------------------------
Today has been a major lazy day for us. It shouldn't of been but I think that my dh is sick or getting sick. With the exception of the 30 minutes he ate breakfast he slept until 3pm. Yikes! The only thing keeping him awake right now is the CUBS game.

I did okay on food yesterday and I got some exercise but not all that I wanted. Maybe if the weather holds tonight I can convince DH to go for a walk after dinner. Food as been alright today...no great shakes but I am cooking dinner in the crockpot so that is better than hitting the pizza place.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.
  • hi
irisheyes - Thanx. I know what ya mean about a lazy day that was us last Wed. I got a small cold and felt bad and didn't feel up to doing much. I ended up though getting off my duff and cleaning and that actually made me feel better? Go figure. lol.

As for my food, haven't been doing well, today wasn't bad, had Subway, had the Tuscan Chicken, I'm sure its a lot better than McD's or what not.......

    to everyone!

Have a Great rest of your Weekend!
  • Hi, my name is Donna, I am 27, I have slight PCOS, and am currently TTC #1. I am on Clomid. This was my first cycle on any fertility meds. I am doing WW because it's the only weight loss plan my ob/gyn like for people who are TTC. I would like to join your group for support in both my journey of TTC and weight loss. I hope it's ok with you if I join.
    Hugs,
    Donna

    The ladies here are Great!
  • Thanks for the welcome, Lady! I know how much it sucks trying to lose weight while on 3rds, did it for years at a nursing home working on the alzheimers unit. My DH also has a sweet tooth, and he is not the least bit overweight, he is 6 foot 2 and weighs about 200, and is proportioned nicely, I on the other hand am 5 foot 2 and like most PCOSers, carry my weight in the middle. But he loves me just the way I am, and I am very grateful for that. He is also very supportive and is willing to try any recipe I find, and actually loves WW food. He doesn't eat his snacks in front of me which is very supportive, and is just an all around good guy who will make a wonderful father, hopefully soon, lol!! Well, have a good night!
    Hugs,
    Donna
